HI!
I read recently that there was a beach on St. Thomas where iguanas ran around freely and even let you feed them. My DS8 would love this so please let us know which beach this is! We have booked the Sapphire Beach Day Excursion on the Feb 22 Magic and are hoping this is the same beach.

Thanks!

We saw the iguanas at Coki Beach--at Coral World not on the beach. They were running around the outdoor eating area, and in and out of the exhibits. I didn't actually see them at the beach though.

I got peed on by one that was in a tree in St. Thomas. They are not the cute little things you see in a pet store. They are large and IMHO disgusting. If he does touch one make sure he washes well immediately after, they carry salmonella.

I believe it was sapphire beach that we saw the iguanas....when we were there last Feb, we were told to stay away from them because they bite (it was mating season). They do not run all over the beach, rather, behind the beach there was a concrete area and then a grassy area with buildings...they were on the concrete area and the beach attendant kept shooing them away.

I would not suggest letting your son get too close enough or to try and feed them. People did take some photos, but they are not friendly (the inguanas I mean, not the people!) ha ha

We also saw the iguanas at Sapphire Beach on our June 02 cruise. They were in the area that mmouse37 said. Nasi

They actually look like Gremlins! I took some video of them at Coki Beach...but they are rather mean. They wander around the eating area and we saw one bite a man's finger and draw blood. I'd be scared I'd get a disease after a bite from one of them! Be careful, they're not for touching.
