Ignore This Post / PIES: The good, the bad.

Just thinking about the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter makes me hungry!!!

Mmmmmmmmmmm French apple pie. The wife brought one home from an "apple festival" a few weekends ago. Man, that was good stuff. And I drive very near the bakery it comes from some days... might have to stop in and pick up another one some day! Or make one myself...

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't attempted to make my own crust yet, but will next time. I have been making cinnamon rolls a bit lately so I've been getting my "rolling out dough" practice. :)

Pumpkin and apple are my favorites. Haven't made one yet this year. Did have apple crisp and ice cream for $6.50 at the topsfield fair. But after ignoring this thread, I'm really lookin forward to apple pie. Nice pic Orchjoe. Did you make it yourself?

mark can still have pie, just not as often adn not as big a piece...you know the everything in moderation deal. although i know the crust is high in fat..wonder if there is a canola crisco and thinking lard would be the worst as far as cholesterol.

i had an apple pie with cranberries that was really good once as well...kyle, too bad your recipe wasn't from bon appetite magazine I lost my coconut cream pie one and they sent me a new copy just a few weeks ago...originally i got in in 1975, or before some on here were probably even born:)

umm cinnamon rolls, especially sticky buns....now that's another topic. i have a friend who keeps asking me to make some since she likes the way they taste i guess...another good fall treat....maybe i should make some and put a photo on the autumn thread:lmao:

I was at my mother's house a few months ago and noticed a recipe for "mini maple cinnamon rolls" on the back cover of "Taste of Home". I remembered that the ones at WDW have maple in them, also. (At least, I think they do...?)

I've made 'em three times at least so far, and MAN, they are absolutely incredible. OK, they're a lot smaller than the WDW ones, and there's no honey in the glaze like at WDW, but they can definitely compete on taste, especially when I throw some raisins in there, too. Mmmmmmmmm! Might have to make some of those this weekend..........

(Master Mason, you're right, Mark probably shouldn't read this thread! :lmao: )
