Ignore List Option

I haven't been here in awhile and was amazed at all the options there are. Way too much work here for me for reading and posting so I won't use them. But out of curiousity, are there people that actually use the Ignore feature? Just because you never agree with someone, you would hide their posts all the time? You don't ever want to hear what they have to say??? I can't believe how odd that is but definitely interesting.......

Sunny, I'm PROUD to report that I'm on "at least" THREE IGNORE lists . Of course, I'm FLATTERED that CBers would go to such efforts to IGNORE my posts ........

I've used it, but I usually don't keep them on ignore long. EROS, you've never been on my ignore list, btw.

Yep. I use it all the time. Usually for short periods like if someone makes me so mad that I need time to cool off but don't want to stop reading/posting on the DIS until I have, but there are some people whose posts make me frustrated/angry often enough I just *leave* them on ignore.

There's a big difference between disagreeing with someone and demeaning someone for disagreeing with you.

I am currently use it now. It makes being here so much nicer. Some people just tend to repeat themselves and I got tired of reading it.

I am too nosey I guess, even the posters that I do not agree with and those that I have come to just not like very well, I still want to read their posts. It is easier to just not respond to the posts then to ignore them.

Pooh& piglet when someone insults a friend it is very hard to ignore. I tend to ignore people that don't have respect for others.

I haven't ever used the ignore feature before, but I've been really close. Sometimes it's hard to skip a post. First of all, I don't usually read the user name off to the left of the post. I identify the poster by the signature, and by the time you get there, you've already read the post. Secondly, as embarassing as it is to admit it, sometimes you just want someone to say something mean to you because you're in that kind of a mood, and it's hard to make yourself ignore someone. But if you're the type of person that I am, you'll end up ruining your day by reading stuff that hurts your feelings.

I wouldn't use the ignore feature just because I didn't usually agree with someone. I would only use it if there was a person who was attacking all of my posts in a personal manner that hurt my feelings.

Actually, I did try to activate the IGNORE function once. I listed all of the moderators/Webmasters but was promptly SCOLDED ...........apparently, they are NOT to be ignored .........

The only feature I know how to operate is the PMs!!!!

I used it for the first time this year because I like the fact that you cannot see the PM from a person on your ig list. They don't even show up!! I would prefer NOT to hear some things that people think they can get away with on the PMs which they know they won't get away with on the boards. You never know what you can "hear" until you're a Mod....

From what I remember about you, Sunny, is that you don't take things personally and that what someone says doesn't phase you. That's pretty much the way I was raised, too, but I had to realize that MOST people are not like that and would prefer not being in the midst of conflict. Hence, they IGNORE. I think it's an awesome choice.
