I got stuck at WDW due to weather 2 years ago. Yes, it sounds wonderful except it was MLK weekend, DVC had no rooms and the only hotel rooms available at WDW were club level at GF or BC. We took the cheaper of the two and did BC. Rack rate for that weekend was $650 a night; we needed 2 rooms for 2 nights. Not a great way to end a vacation, spending $3000 with taxes on rooms to be there on a packed weekend.

If I hadn't pulled the cancer card with the airline, we would have had to stay a 3rd night. :scared1:

kimmar, I hope they get out.

Wow, we got stuck there a few years ago due to a major snowstorm in the NYC area. We were lucky enough to be able to stay at CBR for an extra night. Could not get through to Delta that night or the following morning, so off we went to the airport only to find out that all flights had been cancelled. We stayed in the hotel at the airport that night and I think we paid about $200. I would have preferred to have been stuck at CBR again, but I was also glad to not have to sleep in the airport. As soon as I found out, I sent my husband upstairs to book a room.

At least if they get stuck at the airport tomorrow, Kimmar can go get them and bring them home until their flight is rebooked.

Oh, kimmar -- you are the best. You get up way before the crack of dawn to get your kids out on a plane to WDW before you get snowed in again. You da' mom! :worship:

...it's not even the 'gettin up' part - I don't know if my DH will LET me drive them in really bad weather, although we're only about 20 minutes away from EWR...

....IF my DH lets me go pick them up again....they may have to stay there and wait on Stand-By...

Praying you're all safe tomorrow Kimmar.

Got some news to share: My daughter was accepted into the Honors Program at the local public high school for next year. Each department has their own acceptance/denial. Just found out about the last one today -- English/History, Science and Math. Now it's up to her to decide if this is the route she wants to take. She'll also have to take a language, so it will be a full schedule, for sure.

And just as an FYI -- I rescheduled my test from tomorrow until Friday afternoon, due to the weather.

:thumbsup2 and :thumbsup2

I am trying to ignore the clouds that are starting to show up :scared1::scared1:

PK, great news on your daughter. And yes, I was so stupid that time at WDW not to check non-Disney hotels for those extra days. We had AP's so thought we would stay onsite but the parks were so crowded, we should have just stayed at an airport hotel. Ours was Delta too, Atlanta had gotten snow.

No mudslides here but the rain has been ongoing.

Kimmar, pixie dust for the trip.

Ignoring the ***** who basically tried to make me look like an idiot in a meeting just now. She's 20 years younger than I am, knows EVERYTHING, and treats me like a low-level intern. I NEVER undercut anyone in a meeting. Ever. *****

Sorry -- steaming mad right now and not calming down.

That stinks WF. Sounds like the way my beloved 14 year old DD treats me sometimes. :rotfl:

Sometimes these incidents don't reflect well on the person who behaves that way. I'm sure everyone recognized it for what it was -- inexperience and a lack of professionalism.

Sorry Wick. This is one of my pet peeves too. Hopefully everyone else doesn't ignore her tactics and sees her for who she is.

Thanks, guys. :goodvibes I realize my worries are really minor. I was just ticked off.

And yes, from where I sat, it made her look bad, so I guess that's karma for you. :)

Things I've ignored, super bowl, snow, airports, flights, someone else going to Disney World, childish co-workers. I think that covers it. :thumbsup2

Not ignoring PrincessK's awesomeness. :cheer2: Good job, PrincessK!

Currently ignoring the ridiculous amount of money we're about to shell out for prescriptions for oldest DD. Clogged ear, nasty cough, allergy induced asthma, wheezing, sinus infection all leading to nebulizer treatments, antibiotics, and steroids. :sad2:

Thanks for PrincessKs's shout out!

I'm so sorry to hear S is sick. Sounds like everything is hitting her at once. Prayers and pixie dust that she gets better soon.

Kimmar, just heard JetBlue cancelled all flights out of Newark for tomorrow. Have you had any updates on DS's trip?

Good morning all my little snow angels! Hope everyone is safe and sound, warm and dry and home in their comfy little homes. I, however, am in the office. :guilty: Commute in was a breeze, but it's the commute home I'm worried about.

I can almost guarantee she is a Disser - I get that all the time here.:hug:

I'm going to call my sister now - my nephew was scheduled to fly out of Newark Airport first thing in the morning. I feel bad, but I have a feeling his trip might be canceled. He was going scuba diving in Turks/Caicos.

Oh, and I am ignoring the blizzard outside my window. I took a vow of "no worry" today. :rolleyes1

Awww -- poor thing. I hope she gets better soon. Sorry about the $$ -- I'm constantly amazed at how expensive some drug are.

I'll ignore your blizzard too. Unless it's the kind from Dairy Queen, in which case I'll just eat it for you. I know -- kind of me, huh?

PK -- You're awesome! Just sending good thoughts your way before I go back to ignoring you. :wizard:

kimmar -- am I ignoring you taking your guys to the airport? Or am I ignoring the fact that they can't get out?

Wow Snap, stuck at home in a blizzard when you should be scuba diving? I'm sure you're nephew is heartbroken. :sad2:

Wick, if it's a bacon flavored Blizzard, sign me up!

Bacon flavored blizzard..... yep, I'm gonna ignore that.

...while you're at it, you might as well ignore that fact that my DS and his GF arrived SAFELY at MCO....
