A paragraph from an Oct 5 article at www.ft.com

There may be an old book - The Art of Walt Disney -on the office table, but Mr Iger seems more enthused by the merchandising and licensing lines at the heart of his view of future growth. At one point during our meeting he even reaches for a Dolce & Gabbana shirt, decorated with Donald Duck sequins. "This shirt is about €800 [$992] at retail. The margins must be fantastic!"

Serious? If his ideas include pinning the future success of the company on gaudy shirts that nobody in the world is going to buy we are in for serious trouble if he gets the nod  .

Sounds like we'll all be lamenting the "good old days" when ME was at the helm.

So what if the shirt costs a million dollars. You only have to sell a couple, right? :p

Let's hope he is smart enough to not order a warehouse full of them.

hmmm, two million dollars in sales.....ten million dollars in inventory.

It is often said that those in power are empowered by those without. I doubt this concept shall ever come to fruition; at least, not as it is being percieved here.
