I knew it was going to happen. To have Chapek take the reins just as the coronavirus began to strike the world was really throwing him into the deep end, and since he's yet to gain more experience in other parts of Disney besides the part he worked in, Iger - having himself steered Disney out of turmoil following the Eisner fallout, and already knowing a lot about the rest of the company - had to regain control.

I like the comment about staff reductions being up to his successor. That would definitely be what that successor would likely excel at.

No, I don't think this will happen. You can't automate cleaning up the parks and resorts, cooking and serving the food, dealing with Magic Band issues at ride entrances & monitoring guest safety on rides, guests entering the parks, lifeguarding the pools, etc. For a service-oriented product such as Disney World, you need real staff.
