If your state doesn't already allow casinos....

Would you vite to have Casinos in your state?

  • Bring it on!

  • No way!

  • Depends on what betting they would allow.

I'd vote yes. We have casinos just 20 plus miles away, across the state line. All our money is going over there. We have the lottery, keno and we use to have horse racing. But we don't gamble in Nebraska!

I'm just hoping that my DH's uncle gets one of the licenses. He'll keep the money in this state. He'll employ a ton of local companies and individuals. He's an honest and fair businessman. There will be charity beyond what anyone knows if he gets the license for local people in the Poconos. He's just that kind of guy.

Indiana has been known as a conservative state, but we now have all types of gambling. Our 11th. casino is ready to open, two horse tracks, two lotteries (Hoosier and Powerball), off track betting, bingo parlors and maybe I am forgetting something.

I have spoken with some pretty savvy people that are very political aware and no one had a clue it specifically mentions the Narragansetts on the ballot.

And have you seen the Vote Yes on 1 signs flashing on the hwy? I've seen it on 195 and 295. scary.
Although if anything, "Chief Scrotum" (as we like to call him here at work) has pissed off so many people with the ads and the calls, only Buddy coming out and saying he's pro casino would cause a lot of clueless people I know to vote for the ammendment. :rotfl:

LOL on the nickname :rotfl: Here's a link to the Secretary of State's website that details all of the ballot questions as they will appear....I think we need to educate people on the ramifications of this question. All we see are Harrah's commercials telling us how great this will be when in fact it's a terrible deal for the state. I am not necessarily opposed to casino gambling, but I am opposed to this particular one.

We have slot parlors opening in PA, next month I think. I am glad they are here, but also glad that they did not approve on in Limerick, PA --- 8 miles from my home. I might be tempted to go more often. :teeth:

i would definitely vote yes.

i regularly drive 6 hours to go to a casino (could go to one 2 hours closer, but then i would have to pay for a hotel. ;) ) and i would love if there was one that was a daytrip from my house.

i do not understand the moral outrage against gambling. (says the girl who is going to her regular poker game tonight, LOL).

I have no problem wtih them, only a problem with the way they are handled in this state. I would really rather they allow the big names to come in and build full blown casinos like Vegas has rather than the second rate tribal ones we get here. It's crazy how much money they make, and as it stands, only those second rate tribal casinos get the serious cash.

Pretty hypocritical to have a state lottery but still have restrictions on gambling, don't you think? :confused3
