If Your Child Found $50 On the Ground...

When I was around 8 or 9, I saw dozens of 20's, 50's and 100's on a lawn on my way home from school. A police officer was learning into a car talking with the passenger, who saw me picking up some of the bills and told the cop. He turned around and said that they were his and must have flown our of his pocket. He asked me to help him pick them up, which I did. When I got home, I told my mom - who said I was Stupid :confused3 Anyway, I think that doing what the Brady Bunch kids did is a good idea - wait 30 days for someone to claim it (after telling the desk clerk about the find). Then, it's time for a shopping spree!!

If it had been money in a wallet or a credit card, it should have been turned in. But cash alone is unlikely to actually make it to anyone who truly lost it -- less likely that the person will realize where he/she lost it and more likely that someone at the location where it is turned in will pocket it. So, as long as everyone in the direct area was asked if they had lost anything, I would say, "keep the cash".

I agree
