If your 8 year old is the only one going to ride

I'm 6'3" near 300 and fit on everything.

OP: I don't think it would be an issue for a big person to ride the speedway with a child. I did with my 8 year old nephew and it was no problem. Seatbelt was big enough and a child doesn't take up much room. My nephew is tall but thin. Even though he is tall he had a hard time keeping his foot on the petal, and asked me to do it.

thanks was really worried

I would stay with him because, even though the cars are on tracks...the cars accelerate when the pedal is steped on, and I have seen more than 1 cm have to jump out of the way because a car went too far!

Does he fit on all the rides ? not trying to be rude But I am that big and want to know what rides to avoid

Variations of this question have popped up a lot recently. I'm always so happy to encourage people that WDW is VERY size-friendly! My dad was worried about fit/comfort on rides and almost didn't go with us on our last trip (of course, not really telling us why) until I mentioned looking at allears.net 's WDW At Large section and all the reassuring advice they have about any size concerns. That site has lots of detail about turnstiles, ride vehicles, restraints, leg room, etc. The great news is you'll have far more successes than troubles at WDW. My dad was 6'3" and 300 lbs and fit on every single thing he tried. I think the only rides in all 4 parks he did not do were teacups and Speedway (just didn't feel like doing those - no idea if size would have been a challenge). Also try searching here on DIS for prior "Pooh Size" threads and you'll see lots of good info.

OP: this was one of the rides I didn't even think to be worried about with my Pooh-sized self, but sure enough, it was low, cramped around the steering wheel and tough to get in and out. My son was too young to drive, but if he had been able to, it would have helped a lot. I think I would have fit better if I weren't trying to wedge my leg into position for the gas pedal. Great advice about going through the line and watching from the grandstand, but if you want to try to ride - be the passenger!
