How would you spend it? What time of year would you go? Where would you eat? How long would you stay?

Let me quickly add that we have never (and may never) spend that much on a trip to Disney - but it sure would be fun!!

We are paying over that :guilty: ! This is the last visit for a very long time... We are staying Poly lagoon view concierge 7 nights,,, have ressie for CRT, Ohana, Chef Mickey, Hoop Dee Doo, The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, Grand Floridian Pirate Cruise for the kids. We are SOOOO EXCITED and CAN"t wait!!!!! Especially since this is IT for a LONG time!

Well, since I just spent $4500 on my last trip, lol, I guess I would stay at one of the monorail resorts. I am trying to plan a trip to WDW 12/2006 and am looking to stay at Poly. It looks like for 7 days with room, food, travel expenses, souvies and all will be about $5000.

When: Between the Thanksgiving and Christmas rushes
Where: Poly Concierge LV
Length: 9 days
Eat: we're not into fancy food so we would go for Rain Forest Cafe, Wispering Canyon, 50's Primetime, Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace

We're paying more than that. $4500 for the whole package with dining. We might possibly add another child to that if DD can take a friend. Then add plane tickets and souvenirs. :goodvibes

We're staying at AKL in June for 9 nights, getting 10 day park hopper passes with our package.

Well, we did a trip for four grand last year. That included 6 nights GF, dinners at V&As, Cali Grill, tea at the GF, sit down breakfasts and dinners. Generally being spoiled rotten. For an extra grand I would've added concierge and a couple more nights.

The trip we just took in December was more than that, but boy did we have fun - 13 nights BWI concierge deluxe, Illuminations cruise, two fishing excursions, Artist Point, Brown Derby, two Candlelight Processionals and lots of fantastic relaxation. It was a wonderful trip.

Heres my budget from philly

airfare family of four southwest ding fare $348 total round trip $68 rt each plus tax
Hotel, Westgate lakes resort 2 bedroom with kitchen $420
Auto $235 full size Alamo one week
SeaWorld with Southwest 20% off and one extra free day $170
Universal Studios...with kids free and up to 5 days...$215
Food (saving a lot having the kitchen).....$350
Drinks in park, bringing em in on my kids stroller and cooler.
Souveniers.............$150
Misc..........$200

Total $2088 for 7.25 days. or 288 per day or $29 per hour counting 10 hour day

Yeah, I have to sit through a 90 minute time share but thats only $43.50 worth of time for a huge multi room for $60 a night.

I just hope its not a dump

$5,000 isn't hard at all to spend on a WDW vacation. Once you add in room, food, tickets, and shopping, it is VERY easy to spend 5 big ones. What is difficult, if you want to stay on WDW in a "deluxe" hotel with some space for a week or more, is to keep it under $5K.

We (DH, me, DD's 3 and 6) are staying at a POFQ in April for 5 nights with dining plan. Although I'll bet the deluxes are out of this world if I had an extra $2500 to spend on this trip I would make it longer. And maybe add an illuminations cruise and the cruise you can take to watch Wishes.

Heck, with Disney prices $5000 isn't enough. Two adults on the Premium Plan for 8 nights at YC costs more than that. So in order to make it a really good fantasy I'm going to pretend like I have at least 20K to spend. I'd start with ten nights in a suite at GF, which is at least 10K. Right there, I already need more money! So I'm going to pretend like I have 50K to spend ...

our trip for 7 nites in June is less than half that including driving, tickets, dining plan, & room at Pop Century for 4 of us. DH, myself, dd10, dd2.
I'd go then and for another week in September $2500 for each. Two weeks in disney can't beat that.

We'd stay at a one bedroom at our home resort and eat at all the good restuarants, and just buy crap until we were out of money.

Unless you count our DVC membership against the 5k.

We're planning our 5th trip to WDW since 2000 and our average cost is $5000. 4 RT tickets from Western US and park tickets. We usually go for 9 or 10 days and we stay in Dad's condo. But we do it all. All 4 Disney Parks (have also added DCL), Both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Discovery Cove, SW Dolphin Interaction and Trainer for a Day, (We've even done Busch Gardens), waterparks, dinner shows (even the offsite ones), Cirque, Disneyquest, Disney character and table service meals etc. The first year was the most expensive cause the rugrats had to have everything, but every year since has been a little less (even with ticket price increases). The great thing now is that they don't have the gimmie's anymore. Budget this year is around $4500. We promised DS that we'de take him back when he was tall enough to ride everything (the 54 inchers), but it will be our last trip for a while since DD will start college in the fall and I'd like to pursue a trip to Tahiti for our 15th in about 4 years! I wish I could do Disney for le$$. Some of you DISer's are sooooo good at that! Just unbelievably incredible!

I'm going in less than two weeks and plan on spending a little more than $5,000:

2 rooms at ASSpo for six nights and seven day MYW tickets with the PH option for six people -- $2,397

6 round-trip airfares -- $1,524

Food, souvenirs, and other fun -- $1,400 (estimated)

Total -- around $5,321 (and that's for my household only staying at a value resort)

I probably could get in for under $5,000 if I tightened down on our onsite spending.

If I were spending $5000, I would be disappointed that we had to take a value trip. We usually spend much more than that.

I feel bad now... We are planning our honeymoon trip and that will be at least 8-9000... :scared1: I know crazy right! But we want this to be a trip of a lifetime spending 10 nights LG at GF on the Platinum package and another 2 nights at a Universal Resort. I cringe thinking of how we are going to pay for everything...we will probably live off of Ramen noodles for the next 7 months, but in the end I feel it will be worth it!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes
