so that you no longer had to worry about finances, job/career, even cooking and cleaning, how would you like to spend your time?

I would choose to spend more time with DH and with my DDs with the difference being that I could really FOCUS on them, without thinking that I should really be loading the dishwasher or finishing the report for work. Even when I am with them, my mind is often on other things.

I would travel more, show my children everything from the Grand Canyon to the biggest ball of twine in Minnesota, and see them for myself.

Instead of writing a check, I would give more of myself to the charities I care about.

And I would come back to the DIS and tell you all about it. :D

If I were given the gift of time, I would travel with my kids also. I love the Make a Wish foundation so I would volunteer with them. I would spend more time at soup kitchens and of course, I would take seasonal trips to Disney!

I think I would do an all around the world trip Disney Style! I would also have to go to the Philippines and let my kids see their LOLO (grandfather) and their cousins over there.

Oooh, I like this question (especially on a day I'm feeling overwhelmed. Good fantasy question. :) )

At first, I'd spend a lot of time sleeping, reading, and playing games. Just some good long "down time".

Then, I'd pick up with some more cross stitch design and would likely still try to publish my cross stitch patterns.

If DH and/or my mom were both in the same situation, I'd take a *lot* of vacations. I love to travel and see new places and really want to take DH to a lot of my favorites.

Well, I think I would start off like Rajah and have some downtime for myself. I have a hellacious commute, I work full-time, and I've got an anxiety disorder. Sometimes I feel like I've been running on a treadmill for years. Even vacations are stressful to me!! So, I would just probably sit on the couch for a few days, get a good book, and do NOTHING!!! Then I would get my house in order and then get my body in order.

I would spend LOTS of time cooking good, healthful meals and incorporating exercise into my day. THEN, I would focus on my kids. Same with me, I'm always thinking about everything else that must be done and not really focusing on them.

I guess you can see where I'm coming from. I just need to relax!!!

This is a great idea for a thread! I'd love to spend more time with ds8 and dh. We always seem to be in a hurry and rarely get a chance to actually enjoy each other's company. I'd travel, travel, travel! Ds is dying to go to Egypt, and I'd love him to experience all the different cultures and languages of the world. I'd buy a huge hobby farm and have tons of horses, dogs, sheep and chickens. Eggs and wool would go to homeless shelters for food and clothes/blankets. I'd open an animal shelter on the property and take in/find good homes for strays.:)

I'd travel in the way I'd always dreamed of; living in a place for a number of months, just to see what it is *really* like to be in ________ (insert destination here).

I'd also work on learning more foreign languages (which is related to the travel) and...I don't know what else! Nifty to think about, though. :)

Good post!

Downtime for me too, at first, then of course spend time with my family. I would like to learn new things and be really good at them, like a great cook or an excellent photographer.
THen I would learn just for learning's sake. Read everything I could get my hands on and educate myself the way I want to be, not what college wanted me to learn. Learn about science and current events and astronomy and history.
Then I would travel all over the world with my DH and DS.

I would move where I want to live...without dragging all the stuff with me! Then I would focus on finding a GREAT person to marry. ;)

I'd volunteer full time at the wild animal hospital...that isn't work to me :)
