If you were only doing one dinner in the park........

Where would you eat? I have heard that the Plaza is good for fried chicken. We have free dinner and drinks at our hotel 3 of 4 nights so we only will eat dinner one night in the parks. We just did an all out trip to WDW and ate our hearts out so we don't really need to eat our way around DL - more going for the attractions and the 60th events. TIA!

The ambience there is fantastic but the food is just ok. I'd go to Plaza Inn and get the fried chicken and strawberry shortcake for desert. Its awesome.

It surely does. It's called the Blue Lagoon in Disneyland Paris. Slightly different name. But same idea inside Pirates.

I guess our criteria would be something adults and a kiddo age 6 would enjoy. Good quality food, maybe something unique to Disneyland. We don't really have a budget as this will be our only dinner out this trip. I am happy going low budget for good food and also paying a decent price for really good food. We are not really planning on any "dress up" meals this trip. Thanks for all the suggestions so far! DH would love the idea of a corn dog as one PP suggested

There are not any "dress up" restaurants in Disneyland or the hotels. "Resort casual" dress is acceptable any place.

The food quality at Blue Bayou is fine, I just wish it was more "knock your socks off" given its preeminent position.

If we eat in the park, our favorite places are Plaza Inn, Big Thunder BBQ & the French Market.

That doesn't change my recommendation for you. I'd still go to the Blue Bayou. After you've been to DL a few more times you can branch out.

In DL - higher cost, better ambiance, unique - Blue Bayou
DL - lower cost, better food - Plaza Inn
In DCA - higher cost, better ambiance, better food - Carthay Circle

Blue Bayou is an experience. But after the second or third time, my wife and I said "no more," it was just a bad value, highest prices for only ok food. I do recommend it with that reservation. If it's not too busy a day, ask for a table by the water, it's usually a longer wait, but the kiddo can watch the Pirates boats go by.

What did we replace BB with...Plaza Inn. Corn dog is still our primary go-to for lunch.

To me, another fun place to eat is Carnation Cafe. Situated in the middle of Main Street, it's a lot of fun to enjoy a good light meal, people watch and enjoy the atmosphere.

If you've not been, I definitely agree Blue Bayou is the way to go. It's casual, one of a kind and kid friendly. While not everyone agrees, the food is definitely good. My 4 dd loooooves Pirates, so she was very into the ambience in there and of course the glowing drink they gave her, she'd probably chose it every time because of that.

There are a lot of yummy places to eat in DLR, but if I were only doing one meal (and Club 33 wasn't an option), Blue Bayou would be my pick.
