If you were in charge, what would YOU put on the shelves at the Disney store?

After reading the thread about which Disney stores are open and which are not any longer and reading that many don't buy anything there anyways I started thinking. Even though I get a good discount there and even better when the whole store is on sale, I also don't buy very much. My 9 yr old DD is too big for most of the kids clothes and isn't interested in the adult t's and sweatshirts.

So....if you could stock the shelves with whatever you wanted and know you would buy, what would it be? Let's get creative! Only rule is that of course it has to be Disney something.

All kinds of park-related items. Like the Pirate stuff from the Pirates shop in MK. And some Haunted Mansion stuff and some Splash Mountain stuff (they NEVER sell any Brer Rabbit kind of stuff and I LOVE him).

And a bigger, better snowglobe selection. With park icons like Spaceship Earth and TOT. Those would be so cool.

Yes, please let me stock the shelves, huh, can I, please????:p

Plus size adult clothing and pins.

More adult clothing, plus bigger sizes too.

Oh, my gosh! Ever since I started in retail, I've been dying to take a crack at Disney!

Left Front - adult clothing, home stuff (kitchen, etc), snowglobes, jewelry & watches, pins, collectibles, art and such.

Right Front - kids clothing (a better selection from infant up to teen, better quality and stuff kids will actually wear!), the kiddie toys, GOOD princess stuff, etc.

Right Back - stuffed animals

Left Back - movies & music

Nothing but plushies and princess wears for little girls

OH ...WAIT...that is the only thing they have there now

Disney watches and jewelry would be a good start, but mostly I would like to see them bring back the really NICE Disney adult clothes. We used to buy nice leather jackets etc, and now it is just cheap looking "junk" clothes if they even have ANY adult things.

Another one for more adult clothing, adult jewelry/watches, and pins.

DH loves Donald Duck and he is nonexistent

I want plus sized clothing, period! They don't have it anymore in the catalog.

More watches & jewelry....I used to get the best Mickey earrings there.

And years ago, they used to have "local" stuff--like when I went to the NYC store, they had Minnie Statue of Liberty stuff.

Some park stuff would be neat. Then I would have some stuff to wear on the airplane.

More plus size clothing, pins, clothes for children that actually go past 10/12-like maybe up to 18, good quality clothing/coats, watches, etc. Get rid of some of those junky toys and those Barbie Dolls that have been lining a wall for 6 months! They could not even sell them by marking them down to 5.99!

Adult clothing in regular and plus sizes.
Men's polos
Snow Globes
Watches
Small backpacks (love them as purses)
DVDS and video tapes
Pins

i love their home stores in DTD, so I'd love some disney-home products at my local DS!

but if we are talking anything, I'd like to see parts of old rides for sale. I'd love to have a little piece of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride of my very own!

and more pins. Adult clothing, watches and big kid stuff.

Ditto on the quality kids clothes in larger sizes that my girls would actually wear!! Jewelry and home stuff a must! I'd like to see more bags and purses....some of the styles out right now would be so cool in Disney! BIG book, movie, music section that's not marked up quite so much. I could go on and on!!

My problem with The Disney Store is they never advertise their sales. I usually stroll in there on a Sunday afternoon, and the employees act like there is a secret sale. I call my wife about it for her to check it out later in the day and the sale is over. This happens on more than one occassion.

Make it more into a store with "Collectables and electronics." I'll be honest, I don't see a lot of people buying their Disney clothes at the Disney Store. They go to Sears or Target.

More boy clothes and something other then Toy Story and Power Rangers. Less girl stuff. More jewelry and keychains. WAY LESS stuffed animals. More Radio Disney CDs (I didn't see any when I was there the other day). In addition to backpacks and lunch boxes I would put in tote bags and purses and diaper bags and the dreaded fanny packs....a variety of bags. And add some books....vacation planning books. I would also stick with Disney classics and not so much of the Kim Possible, Lizzie McGuire, and Roly Poly Olie....a little of that stuff is fine, but our store has like half the store for it.

In general, less girl and more boy.

That's true. I shopped the clearance rack at the Disney Store and then went to see what Sears has on sale. I plan on going back to both stores closer to our trip to see what the sale prices are then.
