I wont believe it until I see it but supposedly my husband says he is sending me and my daughter to Disney next month (maybe he is sick of me being on DIS all the time for a trip Ive planned in my mind for OCT 2011) WHO KNOWS.

I know his idea of "sending" me is handing me over some cash and telling me to "make it happen" ... considering if this does happen I will want to stop drop and go so .... if you didnt have time to plan really, what would you do?

Ive NEVER stayed on Disney Property and think maybe it would be easier in a pinch to just not have to arrange transportation and etc by staying off site and rather stay onsite somewhere and just be satisfied.

Any suggestions on deals out there for quick plans?

Depends on how long and how much I had to spend :rotfl2: My ideal quickie is WL or Poly, no rental car (I don't to Disney buses), and only going where I can get to by boat and monorail. We have AP's so admission isn't an issue and leaving dh behind means we can fit in a room without feeling like sardines and not going over occupancy limits. :thumbsup2

3 days we'd do 1.5 at each MK and EP, 4 days would get us 2 each at MK amd EP, a 5th day would be spent at HS.

My DD(7) and I participated in the Give a day, get a day. We got the tickets as a "if we have a chance" to go... Not really planning on it after looking at airfare (we are in Michigan) We went in Oct of last year and the heat killed me. So I signed up for farealert, to see what would pop up. And I hit the mother load :rotfl:I have a DD(2) that I am not taking, I do not want to take a long trip since I will miss her to much... So I found RT air(for 2) and 3 nights at a 3star for $423. We are leaving on Fri and coming home on Mon...One day at WD with our free passes and a day to explore beaches, or DTD or whatever we feel like on that day.. So it is a quickie and I feel it is going to be a cheap trip as well!!

GOOD LUCK

Depends on how much you have to spend and how many times you've been to Disney. I'd book a room at Movies and prepurchase hoppers...then start working overtime to figure out current show and parade times. Buy the Unofficial Guide. The Guide and it's website will give you tips about attendance rates at the parks and general touring plans that you won't find here.

Don't let people scare you off the busses. Magic Express is great, especially if you're traveling alone with kids. The resort busses aren't always the most timely, but if you've been waiting, ask and they'll call for more busses. If there's a tour group in line at Movies, walk over to Music and get on there...it loads before Movies.

Once you nail down your itinerary, book a meal or two.

Finally, I'd approach this as a scouting trip...know your "must see's" and consider the rest of your time an opportunity to explore what's new since your last trip so you can begin to map out your plans for 2011!

Have great fun...you have a wonderful husband!

Thanks for the chuckle! hee hee If it is just you and your daughter going. I would def stay onsite... not having to worry about transportation. Ck out the value resorts if you want to save a little money.

It is soooo much easier to just stay on-site! We've stayed at most of the resorts and still go back to the All Star resorts! Actually, I'm planning on our next trip for May to the AS Music. Using the WDW transportation is super easy plus you don't pay for parking. We love the resorts and staying on-site is half the fun.

Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoy ours!

I was a bit confused by the title as well. It certainly piqued my curiosity! lol

What to do depends on how much is in that wad of cash and how long of a "quickie." How old is your DD and what sort of things do both of you like? That and the budget can help determine where you're staying. I would personally suggest a monorail hotel for staying on site because you'll lose far less time traveling and that's obviously an even more important factor for short trip. Unless you're both really into animals and would like to spend a lot of time at AK, in which case AKL seems to make the most sense.

I hope your DH follows through! I would have looooved to go on a surprise trip with just my mom! =)

absolutely onsite. DME is free and easy, and wdw trans is fine - especially not during the crowded times;)
staying at a value will be best for the budget, and you can use the saved money to do a few special things.

i wouldn't wait to long to plan tho. airfare can be a big chunk of your budget, and early booking can save money. also, resorts do book up.

figure out your budget, pick some less crowded dates, and see what scenerios fit :)

Ya think?! :rotfl2: I did the whole raised eyebrow thing when I saw the title..."If you were given a quickie..." indeed!

Current Title:

My first thoughts were NOT Disney-related (or even rated PG).....:lmao:

I have to admit  that my mind went to a naughty place. In my defense, my DH is deployed so maybe I am easily swayed.

LOL...

Yeah... first impressions weren't G rated either. But it's a good laugh.

Glad I wasn't the only one who saw the title, went hmm just have to check this one out :rotfl2:

Nope, you are not alone. ;)

My mind was in the gutter, just like the rest of you. :lmao::rotfl2:

I'm a good girl. My mind didn't go to the naughty place :littleangel:

DD and I just did a Mother/Daughter trip in November. Hands down it was the best trip ever. We did stay onsite and splurged to stay at AKL. We rented a car and it was a waste of money. We would have been fine using the busses all the time (we only drove the car 3 times?) You really didn't give much information...how old is your daughter? Have you been to WDW before? Etc. You may have trouble booking restaurants a month out, but there is always some place to eat.

My mind also went to a bad place!

Especially since this is the budget board. I was thinking, "wooaaah!!! no discounts available!"
