If you were a WDW vet and had one day in DL, what would you do?

I am a WDW vet and have never been to DL (can afford to drive to FL, closer) I have the opportunity to go to DL one day next month while I am at a conference. This is a once in a lifetime chance for me (at least 99% chance that I won't be able to get back out to CA again. (again due to financial reasons). What are some things that I should absolutely NOT miss?

I would ride all of the rides that are not at WDW. Then I would ride Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain and Space Mountain, which are different than at WDW.

Yes all rides that are not at WDW especially Matterhorn, Pinnochio, Alice, Indiana Jones, Mr Toad

If you are also going to DCA, World of Color is NOT to be missed, of course neither is Fantasmic! at Disneyland, ours is far better than Florida's (in my opinion), although Florida at least has a stadium.

I would try to ride Indy 2 or 3 times. POTC twice. Those rides more than once to pick up on the details.

Also the Matterhorn, Alice in Wonderland, the Aladdin Musical, walk through Flik's Fun Fare, Monster Inc Ride, Grizzly River Rapids, walk through New Orleans Square.

Also visit the subtlely different Space and Splash, maybe BTMRR and Jungle Cruise.

You might want to revisit Mr Toads, and the Submarine Ride which now feature Nemo(the fish).

For food avoid the typcial Hamburgers and Pizza because both parks have really good non standard fare. If you want an expensive meal make a reservation for Blue Bayou.

At night see World of Color, then if you can Remember Dreams Come True, and maybe Fantasmic.

Make sure you see Billy Hill and the Hillbillies at the Golden Horseshoe. To me, it is a throwback to classic Disney in park entertainment. I try to catch it whenever I can, and there is nothing like it at WDW.

What about the parade at DL?

1. Pirates of the Caribbean (DL's is much better IMO, plus New Oleans Square is awesome)

2. Space Mountain (yet again much better than WDW's)

3. Indiana Jones (Similar to Dinosaur but a better theme IMO)

4. Fantasyland (there are quite a few rides that are not at WDW)

5. Toontown (just because WDW got rid of theirs)

6. If you have time and/or a parkhopper ticket, I would check out California Adventure

I would:

- Get to the security tents early (at least 40 min. before rope drop).
- Don't go on a T day or an S day (unless you're staying onsite). Go on Wednesday if you have a choice.
- Read all the links below. (with a DLR map in front of you).
- Know how DLR FP works.
- Have a plan the first 2 hours in DL.
- Have a plan the first 90 min. in DCA. (Yes you should HOP mid morning).
- Did i mention to GET THERE EARLY?
