which ride would you most like to create for WDW?

For my brother and I, we always loved the "storm tunnels" from the Gummi Bears, and always hoped we would see a ride for it next time we visited. If we wanted to use our imagination, we would go to the late River Country and pretend the water slides were just that! :joker:

I've always thought a roller coaster ride through all the "doors" from Monster's Inc would be really fun! Of course it would be an indoor coaster with music and Mike and Sulley talking like in the movie. :goodvibes

Step 1: Acquire rights to Willy Wonka and the Chocalate Factory

Step 2: Build dark boat ride tour of the factory.

If I were an Imagineer...I would do two things:

First take out the African Outpost, I would replace this with EGYPT. A sphinx (sp?) would provide the entrance to a Water Ride (Log flume maybe) that would simulate floating down the Nile. Speakng of the Nile I would incorporate the small river flowing off stage and call that the "Nile". The restaurant would be in the shape of a pyramid (obviously) with traditionaly Egyptian cuisine

SECONDLY

I would add a Australian section to Animal Kingom, the signature ride would be a REAL safari not like Kilaminjaro. The ride vehicles would be motified 4 door Jeep Wranglers that are due out in November. 1 Driver(Cast member) would accompany 4 guests while free roaming throughout the Outback for a preset amount of time. I realize there isn't much room, but this pavilion would be perfectly themed behind the new Finding Nemo show

I love these ideas. Those are GREAT pavilion ideas!

I would love to see the monorail have a separate section that would take you to all the parks and loop through each one. They could stop at each one to load and go. How much fund would it be to take a monorail especially at night and go through all the parks seeing the lights, rides and action.

I totally agree with the door roller coaster idea! When I saw the movie I figured that the Imagineers were already working on it!

How about a roller coaster or simulator based on Aladin's fligth out of the Cave of Wonders?

I wish Disney had bought the rights to Harry Potter instead of Warner Brothers...can you imagine a roller coaster through Gringotts bank like they describe in the book?! Even though they cut is out of the movie it would be amazing...and I hate roller coasters!

The Monsters Inc one is a great idea.

I would like to put a Dinosaur like ride in Adventureland where the Disney Heros (Aladdin, Prince Phillip, Peter Pan, etc) fight Maleficient as the Dragon, Captain Hook and Jafar. Something for the boys!

I've always thought this and have mentioned it to a few other people. Soarin' Over Florida. The ride would be exactly like Soarin', but with scenes from Florida instead of California.

I have no idea if this would ever happen. Probably not, as Soarin' is good enough. :thumbsup2

OMG when we saw the movie the first time my daughter who is now 13 said "What a cool ride for WDW" Now every time she watches the movie or talks Disney, she brings up that same idea.

A Sword in the Stone Ride.
You ride a car (something that contains about 20 people to keep the ride moving along quickly). During the ride You get "transformed" to the three different animals that Wart (King arthur) was transformed into.
First you become a fish, suddenly the 360 degree screens around the cart you are traveling in, takes you under the water. At first you can enjoy the different animated plants and sights under the water - suddenly a large predator fish starts chasing you all over the place. After a few minutes, right before he gets you, you return to the surface, only to find that you are now a squirrel, jumping from tree to tree. Again at first you can enjoy the scenery of jumping from animated tree to animated tree, until a snake starts chasing you. He gets you to fall out of the tree, and starts chasing you underground. Again, this would last for a few minutes until finaly you get trapped at a dead end, but right before the snake gets you, you are once again transformed, this time into a bird. Now you can fly about the sky (kind of like 'soaring'). You enjoy the beautiful sights, until a large Hawk decides to give you chase. Once again, you zoom around being chased by a predator, until at last Merlin transforms you back into your normal self, and the ride comes to an end. :cool1:

If I were a Disney Imagineer . . .

. . . I would be wondering how to keep my job, since they are outsourcing ride design and construction, and the Imagineering office buildings are currently being torm down.

I love the Monsters Inc door ride idea!

I would also replace the Indy Tommorowland Speedway with characters from Disney movies like Herbie The Love Bug, the cab from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and of course Lightning McQueen and the gang from Cars.

Redo 20,000 leagues, but the Tokyo Disney Seas version (simulated underwater - no huge lagoon, handicap inaccessable boats, low hourly rider count).

Heck, rebuild all of Tokyo Disney Seas in Orlando, but don't scrimp, do it like the Japanese did. I've never been there, but the photo tour on Mouseplanet.com will blow you away.

Of course, that's not an imagineering problem (since it's already done), it's a money problem for the suits in Burbank!

An ancient greece themed dark ride with greek myths and legends would be a great addition to a new Greece in World Showcase. I'll second 2Xited4Disney and say that an ancient egypt mild thrill ride (like Maelstrom in thrill level) would be neat. Could go in Adventureland or World Showcase. In the U.K., how about a Tower of London scare show? Might be too much like a second Haunted Mansion though...

I always thought it was a No-Brainer for Disney to do a Magic Carpet ride for Aladdin, and not that stupid thing that they plopped in the middle of Adventureland. I always wanted to ride it!

Also, my DTwin came up with the idea for Disney to do a ride based on The Australian Current scene in Finding Nemo!

They should also do a ride like Spiderman in IOA.

Ok, one more. You know the scene in Monsters Inc with the closet doors (with Sully and Boo?) The first time I saw that scene I thought to myself "That should be a thrill ride in WDW"!!!

:thumbsup2

I think I read somewhere that they are going to change the movie but will do a Soarin' over the World, and have scenes from different landmarks.
