If you wear glasses everyday...

I had a very similar problem, I wear glasses so does my husband (for a guy glasses at their wedding seems to not be an issue). I can see without them but a little blurry sometimes and I had an anxiety attack when I attempted to put on contacts (I almost passed out due to a phobia I have with eyes) DH decided for me to just wear them or he would carry them around for me.

I ended up not putting them on at all in the morning (so my eyes wouldn't adjust to the glasses) and had someone give them to my husband so if i needed them after the ceremony I could put them on. I got so evolved in everything I ended up not wearing them. But if glasses are you there is nothing wrong with wearing them at the party so what if its in some of the pictures.
Be yourself and be proud :thumbsup2 good luck with everything!

Maybe it's not the same for the groom, but my fiance wears glasses 90% of the time/contacts 10%. I told him that he should wear his glasses; they're part of who he is.

He just needs to wear the pair without the Transitions lenses...we'll hopefully be taking outdoor photos and we want to be able to see his eyes, not darkened glasses!

I wear glasses everyday. For our VR I wore them for the ceremony (so I could see where I was going and my see my hubby's smiling face). For the photos - before and after - I took them off (a few times I forgot).

I didn't think it looks weird at all. If I didn't wear glasses and wore glasses only for that day...then it would look weird. :)

I vote for whatever makes you comfortable!

For those of you that would like contact lenses but don't get on with them I'd like to recommend the all day all night lenses I use. I have been wearing them for over 10 years now and they have changed my life - seriously!

I put them in at the beginning of the month and leave them in for 30 days, no cleaning required and you can sleep in them and then throw them away at the end of the month.

I wake up in the morning and no scrabbling for glasses or lenses, I can see! Because they are designed for this kind of wear they are super thin and have a really high water content to keep your eyes fresh.

I'm not sure where you'd get them in the States but in the UK I get them from Specsavers and they are only £15/month.

Also I should say I don't work for specsavers but they are that good that I really do tell everyone I know who wears glasses or lenses to try them.

I also think if you wear glasses everyday then you will look just as good on your wedding day in glasses :goodvibes

I had to wear my glasses for our wedding - I don't recognize myself without them! And was relieved when the Roots told me I "could" wear them. Check out our photos of the Root's blog. Www.rootweddings.com/blog a few posts down. (Erin and Rick) I don't think I looked odd with them on and am so happy I didn't listen to anyone that told me I had to take my glasses off. :)

My husband weas glasses everyday because he is blind without them. His mom got on his case (can you say overbearing?!) because she didn't want him wearing his glasses in pictures. In the end he only wore contacts for the ceremony and ended up taking them off in the limo bc he was uncomfortable and put his glasses on for the reception.

He now looks at the pictures and thinks he should have just worn his glasses.

Do what makes you feel good!

If you wear them everyday and think you wouldn't look like yourself without them, wear them! You want to be able to recognize yourself on your wedding day. And if they are anti-glare, you won't have to worry about the flash of the cameras in the photos.

I wear glasses. I'm only 40/20 in each eye. I can go with out them, but hate to!
Not only that, I have a slight lazy eye, its more of a muscle in my face, so if i'm not wearing them, it becomes real obvious that one eye seems to droop a bit... lol... I'm a bit self conscious about it, so wearing the frames helps with that.

I'll probably decide day of to go with or without... As long as I'm aware of the fact that i have to work a bit harder with one eye... i'm usually okay!

But i've seen lots of beautiful brides on here wear thier glasses, and it doesn't seem that it takes anything away from the pictures!

LuvLuvLuv, What ever you decide, i'm sure you'll be stunning!

Rock your glasses, girl! I've seen several wedding pics of brides wearing their glasses and they look stunning! You need to do what's most comfortable for you! It's your day!

Wow,I'll be looking forward to it.In fact,I wear glasses everyday as well,so Thanks for this post,i decide to wear my eyeglases on my wedding .:banana::yay::yay:

I wore glasses on my wedding day b/c I wanted to be comfortable and look like myself. I also wanted to see the day. I'll wear glasses again at our vow renewal this year. I hate contacts and would have been uncomfortable all day. Be comfortable and beautiful in a well chosen pair of glasses.

I'm a contact wearer myself and have done so for about 5 years now. I understand some of the contact drama but I see the worth in contacts and quite frankly, they are required in my line of work (yeah, really!). I wear my glasses when I feel lazy or wake up super early or know that I'll be out of the house for an extended period of time (over 13 hours). That being said, I wouldn't wear my glasses on my wedding day for reasons listed above. I know I'm going to cry and I would not like to have to creatively tuck my hands under the rims to wipe my tears. I'm a girl who really enjoys putting on/wearing make-up and I'd really like to show my make up off, not hide them behind glasses. I would also hate to look through my pictures after the fact and find that one of the shots are ruined by the light reflecting off my lenses and ruining a potentially wonderful shot. You also have to keep in mind that when you are photographed in lenses, your eyes appear smaller than they are. But if you are used to that and like how you look in your lenses, wear them! You should feel the most beautiful you have ever felt on your wedding day. If that includes wearing glasses, then wear them. Don't do anything that will make you uncomfortable because as a bride, this is your day!

Now, that being said I'd wear my glasses before I go blind. When I don't wear my glasses, I subconsciously squint a lot and wouldn't be able to see the look on my new husband's face when I come down the aisle, when we are saying our vows, exchanging rings or when I just want to look at him as we walk back down the aisle as man and wife. If you think that your sight might be important to you for any of those moments, wear something to be able to see with. Good luck on your decision :D
