Target is offering a $200 gift card through Saturday.

That's a really good deal and sort of tempting but the only "problem" is my DS uses it (he inherited after I got the iPad 3, 2 years ago) so he'd ask about it's location immediately. :lmao:

I wish they had out the iPad Mini retina version already as I'm considering that as a gift for him.

Thanks for the head's up - I still might look into it! :thumbsup2

I took mine in yesterday and got a 200 Target gift card. Super easy and we are going to use the gift card for a new ipad air when they come back in stock. The ipad needs to be in good shape and turn on/ all buttons working, no cracks on screen.
I talked my mom into it as well, she would like an upgrade as well.

Many web site are predicting the new iPad Mini will release Nov 22.

If you want one, I suggest being ready to order online at midnight Pacific time.

Hint: Download the Apple Store app on your iPhone or iPad and order through that rather than Apple's website. They open up orders through the app before their online site. I did this when I ordered my iPad Air and was done with my order through the app before the online site opened. I then went to the closest Apple Store and picked it up. By pickup time, they were already sold out locally of the configuration I chose; there is now a 5-10 day shipping wait.

Is there an advertisment for this somewhere. I just checked their website and it said my trade in value was $75. :confused3

I don't remember what it said for ours, it was less than $200, but we got a $200 giftcard, no problem.

One thing to note- if you go to a 'smaller' store you might call and confirm that they do it there. It said only stores with mobility kiosks, so we searched and Target's website said a store close to us had one, but when we got there, it did not. The guy who worked there said they have told corporate and told them, but they won't change it.

Its, worth a try. Thanks!

Do you have to use the $200 only on the Air ipad model? I want to replace DS original old iPad immediately, would not really be able to wait for one to come back in stock. (he is autistic). I would buy a slightly older model than the air, or just use the GC on other things if that was an option. (and buy the replacement at the Apple store).

There's a box over on the left that mentions the $200.

Cool, thanks!

Am I understanding correctly that you do not need to immediately use the credit? My youngest daughter is saving for a Mini bought won't have quite enought to purchase this week. And I think since it's so close to release date waiting makes sense.

No, it's a $200 Target giftcard, you don't have to spend it right away.

My Target had several of the current generation Ipads in stock, with price drop and gift card with purchase, that you could buy now, if you didn't want to wait for the Air.

If you aren't set on the mini with retina, the current mini is on sale for I think 299.99 plus a $25 gift card. So with a trade in you would only be spending $75!

Anyone know if it is okay if the casing of the iPad has a dent?

I thought I read somewhere that it just had to power on, and not have scratches on the screen, but I can't find it anywhere. Maybe just call and ask?

Also you do not have to use the gift card toward a new iPad. I actually used it to buy some Christmas presents since I have a new iPad already.

I passed info onto my friend who was talking of upgrading her IPad so this would help her out even if she buys ipad someplace else.

Thanx for sharing. I think I have now found the motivation to upgrade my first gen iPad.
