If you use bottled water to mix formula....

do you buy gallon jugs at the grocery store? Or do you buy bottles at your resort? If you buy gallons, about how many would you suggest for a 7 day trip? This is for my 4 month old DD. I'm trying to figure out the easiest (and not to expensive) way to work this out. Thanks!

We bought gallon jugs to mix formula. It was cheaper for us (we brought them from home since we were driving and not flying). We used the bottles with the plastic liners and filled the bottles before leaving for the park each day. We always went back to the room for rest time so we could refill them then.

we just went with a 9 month old and we used individual bottles. We flew and brought with us a case of water. It worked out great for us to freeze a bottle in the fridge and then toss it in the diaper bag with the other bottles of water to keep em cool. Then we mixed with the individual packets on the road! And we came home with room for souvenirs since the case of water was gone

It would depend on how many ounces your baby takes and how often. Zoe is almost 9 months and she only takes 4-6 ounces every 3-4 hours, her cousin Noah is 7 months and takes 8 ounces every 3 hours so he takes about 40 ounces a day while we're lucky if we get 25-30 ounces into Zoe.
I agree with whomever suggested filling your bottles at the room with gallon jugs, it'll take up less room than X-number of empty bottles and X-number bottles of water plus the powder formula.

A lot depends on how much your child drinks and how often..... I'd consider getting a filter sports-bottle so that you can get water at any drinking fountain or restaurant and filter it directly as you need it. Much lighter than carrying water around all day and the filters work wonders.

Short of that, the gallon jugs should be a lot cheaper than bottled water from the resort.
