If you stopped posting, would you let someone know?

If, for some reason, you decided to stop posting to the boards, would you let someone know or just fade into the background?

Personally, I'd probably just PM one person. Never been much for long goodbyes. Not that I plan on leaving anytime soon

I'd just fade away quietly (as though that would be possible ). I'd be afraid of inciting too large a celebration ( ) if word got out that I left.

I can't get past the idea of not posting to figure out who I would tell.

WTH would I do when I'm on these endless conference calls like the one I'm on now if I didn't post on the DIS? I can't imagine actually participating in them.

But if for some odd reason I decided voluntarily to quit posting I am sure I would tell someone.

I have stopped several times over the past years, to give my brain a chance to air out, or me a chance to cool down. I just quit posting. Lurked some, on and off, then when I had my rest, just started again.

There are some people here who genuinely care about and love me , so I'd either announce it or at least tell some of them that I was taking a break.
I don't like it when regular posters just disappear - even if I don't really have more than a passing connection with them. I wonder what happened to them, but sometimes I'm too hesitant to ask .

I would tell someone in a PM in case someone wondered where I was. I hate it when a regular poster just is no longer on the CB. I always wonder if something happened to them.

Does anyone have a parent who likes to keep tabs on them? I mean as an adult, of course. My mom will call me if she thinks that I am "missing" for a day or so. So, I guess I'm used to checking in with people.

Yeah, my parents go a little nutty if I don't talk to them every couple days or so. But that's not so bad.

Actually, it was quite fortunate they do freak out if they don't hear from ya. My brother had a medical emergency while abroad and no one would've known until it was far too late. My "paranoid" parents called and called and finally got in touch with someone to check on him. Fortunately it was not too late.
