If you split your stay, how many nights at each resort?

We really enjoy splitting our time between 2 or even 3 resorts, but have never stayed all of the nights on site. This time we'd like to add the dining option, so will choose a package for our 8 night stay. DH won't try a Value resort (I've been to ASmu with the kids and had no problems whatsoever, but will DH listen to me?) and we don't want to spend the extra $ for a Deluxe, so need to decide which two Moderates to try together. I've stayed at CBR and POR (then DL) and liked both for different reasons. What have been your experiences with splitting your stay onsite? Can you still get your luggage moved between two resorts?

if we have 8 nights we would do it evenly,
4 and 4, and we stay at the lesser one first if there is a difference, that way we dont regret leaving the fancier hotel.

We have done CBR and POR togther and I can say I really love POR, the atmosphere is wonderful. Havent been to POFQ or CSR, but not into the
theming style at CSR. (southwestern)
Splitting the stay was not bad, but we moved our luggage ourselves and just
left it in the trunk until we checked in later in the day.
If you dont mind repacking, you should do fine.

Having your luggage moved is the easy part. Decided where to stay is harder, lol. When you change resorts just take your luggage to bell sevices and they transport it to the resort you are moving to.
We are DVC members and we dont use our points for weekends, depending on how long we stay we could change resorts 2 or 3 times. Our last stay was 2 weeks. We checked in Sat at Pop Century, moved to BWV for the next 5 nights then moved to Universal for weekend (fri, sat & sun), checked into the Poly on Monday and stayed til Sat. The disney moves are very easy.

We split our stay last year for the first time. We stayed 4 nights at Pop and 5 at ASSports. It wasn't the hassle I thought it was going to be. The worst part of course was packing everything back up and unpacking.

Since we drove, we hauled the luggage ourselves and it was very easy.

After all my trips to disney, this year will be our first year spliting out trip. 4 nights at VWL and 5 nights at BCV. If they come out with APP rate I will be adding on 2 more days.

We're doing a split stay this time, 6 nights at POFQ and 6 at AKL. We LOVE POFQ, so I'd say you should try that one. :) It's smaller, so not as much walking, beautiful grounds, has the boat to POR and DTD, and a fun pool. Good luck deciding! :)

as of now DS and I are booked first 3nights at PO/Riverside (Th-Sun) followed by 6nights at VWL
I am thinking of switching to either Beach Club Villas or Boardwalk Villas

I am doing my first split stay too- 4 nights Pop, 5 nights Poly. Although if AP rates don't come out, it'll be more nights at Pop and less at Poly :)

This time last year,we spent 5 nites at the brand new POP Century Resort, then went over for 5 days to Old Key West......Both were great, and while we spent the afternoon at Epcot, they transferred our luggage to OKW,and when we arrived, there it was ,waiting for us.It was hassle free indeed, and we would definitely consider a split vacation another time!
Have fun! pirate:

We are now set with 10 nights at POFQ and are considering trying to change the last 4 nights to AKL with a Savannah view... What do you guys think??? Is it easy to get to the parks from AKL!!

I don't like to spend less than 2 nights at a resort, if I'm taking the trouble to get there...pack up, etc. Three nights makes me feel like I've really experienced the resort and settled in a bit. We like to take a week and a half trips (about nine nights) and switch twice w/ 3 nights in each resort (AKL, BWI, GF is our favorite combo). That gives us enough nights to visit the closest park (s) to the resort and usually have a resort day. I don't really unpack so moving has never been a big deal. We like experiencing WDW from different angles and home base themes! So fun ! :cool1:
