and have a 50 percent with confirmation, 50 percent X number of days before the vacation, do you call/email/remind them of the second payment? or is that rude?
 
I would contact them and not give it another thought.

I'v rented points for DW and for a beach condo.

I would not find it rude.

In fact any contact with you would make me feel good. that you have not forgott about me.

An email just before there vacation date saying have a good time would be nice too:banana:
 
In the past I have stayed in contact with my renters. If the 50% is due I actually shoot them an email reminding them about a week in advance so I know they (and I) are still on the same page! Historically Disney owners and renters are awesome poeple and they won't mind a bit !!
 

Definately send an e-mail reminder as not everyone is organized and it will avoid possible unpleasant problems in the future

Do the points belong to you or the other person?

If they are your points and the person renting the reservation hasn't paid you according to your terms, contact them. If they fail to meet your terms, you have come into a little cash and cancel the reservation.
 
We always send an email and if paying thru Paypal we send a paypal invoice as well. Works great, no complaints.

Do you consider it rude when your cable company reminds you that your payment is due? I don't. This isn't rude either.
 
Of course, it's all in how you say it. There are rude ways to remind someone, and ways that will make the person glad they rented from you.

I require 100% payment with-in 10 days of the renter receiving the reservation. I have a no refund policy, I will help the renter re rent the points. Have no problem renting points and have since 2004.
