Glad it worked out; but can you get your money back?
I had a rant with Discovercard a month or so ago. It's really not their fault, but their customer service was really crummy, so we are going to just pay off the card as quickly as possible and close it. Long story short, DH was activated into the military. All credit lines are to be reduced to 6% while one is serving in a war; all our creditors were extremely gracious about it, EVEN the credit cards that were in MY name, but had my DH as an authorized used (Bank One, AMEX)...they all lowered any balance we may have had and any new purchases to a 6% interest even though they didn't have to. We have been using the Disc as our primary charging card- it was the one I gave DH to take with him to order any extra gear he may need, stuff at the PX, etc, so it had a smallish balance on it...I noticed the interest was not at 6% so I called to ask if they had rec'd my notice about DH going active duty and he said, "Yes, but we don't have to do a thing for you because it's you that is the primary card holder." I said, "Well, I understand that, but your competitors lowered the interest rate for us and it was the same circumstance..." He said, "Sorry, ma'am, we are not obligated to change that interest rate unless it's the primary card holder who is activated." While he was right, he was SO SNIPPY and SNOTTY about it...I should have asked for his supervisor. I pictured him getting off of work and going and protesting the war or something cause his tone was just scathing.
Rant off. And back to your post!
