If You Rec'd Your Docs - Did You Book Air Separately?

Just curious.....

Anyone who received their docs a month or so before sailing - did you book directly through DCL or with a TA? And how about your air? Did you book that with DCL or separately?

DH and I are sailing December 12 on the Wonder, part of a 7 day land and sea that we booked with a TA. We booked our air with DCL and was wondering if that is why we haven't received our docs yet; maybe DCL has to wait and see what airlines have space, etc.

I know technically that docs are available two weeks prior to sailing, but I was just curious as to why some people receive them earlier than others. Plus, I want mine!!!;)

DCL doesn't assign air until 30 days in advance, so you would not receive your docs any earlier than that. Most likely you'll get them about 20-25 days in advance of your trip. :)

Quite a few on Dec 14 have rec'd their doc., but we have not. We
booked w/ TA - air seperate. We were told upfront our group should not expect theirs until 2-3 wks. prior to sail, so that is keeping us in line ;) Otherwise we would be wondering where they are . Seems booking 26 mos in advance should come into play...LOL ;)

We received our docs on Nov. 4 for the Dec. 14 Magic. We booked through DU and are arranging our own air.

Last year we booked through COstco and received our docs the day we left town - only a few days before the cruise, and then only after days of frantic phone calls with people at Costco not knowing what was going on. We received the shore excursion info after we got back.

Everything with DU is going so smoothly - the difference is very relaxing. Wonderful to work with!!

Booked through AAA, Air independent with Frequent Flier miles, Docs for Nov 9th Sailing were to be by October 1st.

Good Luck, Note other than the fact that you are checking off another box in the process, they are really not that big a deal.

Have Fun

Hi!
Received our December 14 documents on Nov.1. Booked through DU and booked our own air.

I book directly with Disney for cruise or land/sea, then I book my own air fare then I turn it all over to a TA (Cruise Travel Outlet) and get a 7% rebate on the actual price of the cruise. For a 7 nighter, I get about $200 back from the TA. I like to have the control of scheduling my own cruise and flight but want the benefit of having a TA giving me part of his rebate from Disney.

Got my December 12th documents on November 4th.

Happy Sailing!
