If you ran the park...

This thread is to see how you would do things differently if you were the person in charge of running the park. This could do with discounts, prices, new rides, and anything else you can think of.

One of the first things I would do is create an two way entrance between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure so there would be easier access while you were already inside one of the parks (HHN 15 had this I think) . While this would decrease the chance of you buying something at Citywalk, this would probably increase your chance of eating inside the park.

One of the things I would look into is creating a daily night time fireworks show. Now I know there is a Universal 360 fireworks/laser show during the summer months but it doesn't really compare that much to what Disney does. I'm sure Universal has already looked into this and decided against a big fireworks show but this is something I would like to see.

Those are just a couple of ideas. What would you guys change?

If I ran Universal I would teach the employees how to be nicer like Disney.....Its sad how its clear the come to work for a paycheck and nothing else........90% of the staff are neighbors and friends but its the truth....

Also the I would see to it that most of the park would be open when the park itself opens instead of walking thru the park at 9am and having 90% of the attractions closed........

I've been going to both Disney and Universal on a regular basis for decades and never anything but good experiences from employees at both.

Universal can't do the nighttime fireworks shows due to the surrounding neighborhoods.

I would take out all of the time share sales people, the credit card sales people etc.

I would make a setup similar to photopass because it's one of the few things that Disney has done recently that seems to really enhance the guest experience.

I agree about adding a gate between the parks.

In IOA I would re-open the Island Skipper Tour boat that goes across the park.

I would fully enclose the Storm Force ride and make it darker, so it's really a different experience.

I would keep Mythos open for Dinner every day :thumbsup2

That's a few things for now...

LOL :lmao: This is funny considering that a lot more Disney employees are unhappy with their job than Universal employees.

I must be lucky because I've very rarely run into a rude Universal employee. I'd say that it happens roughly as often as at WDW. :confused3

Personally, I would just love it if the parks stayed open later. Florida is usually so pleasant at night and it would be fun to see some of the areas at night.

We did see fireworks in the Studios one year and they were excellent. I didn't know that it bothered surrounding areas. It's funny because we have a minor league baseball stadium nearby and they very often have fireworks. They can be heard from all over.

Absolutely. I love riding Jaws, Jurassic Park, and the Hulk in the dark. It's challenging to hit all three before 7 pm.

For one thing, I would have ONLY movie clips and movie theme song music playing in the parks. starting from the second you get out of your car in the parking deck. no more music unless it was related to a Universal movie. I want to feel like I'm in a movie studio theme park. not a 6 flags!

It would be nice to have a surprise celebrity guest appear in a parade every day.

No timeshare, credit card, survey people either.

More perks for passholders.

Ciggarettes would be outlawed, and no more alcohol served at Horror nights.

Fascist ;).

Something to reduce the amount of alcohol consumed, it's not nice for young kids to see drunks.

More quality food outlets, rather than the usual garbage of burgers and fries (US mainly, IoA isn't too bad).

No sales people, we're on vacation not a trip to the mall.

Longer hours, 11pm every Friday and Saturday night and 9pm at least in the week.

A gate between parks would be a good idea.

Go back to the old express pass, run like disney's FP. People are paying out a lot of money to come on vacation and we can't all afford to stay at Loews hotels or buy express passes, especially in the high season. We want to enjoy our trip without someone with more money rubbing our noses in it about how they can afford to stay on-site by going on 3 or 4 times while us paupers are queuing up in the blazing sun.

I agree with these ideas but for HHN...no alcohol means no more HHN. People are going to drink whether to ease their fears or just to hang with their friends. I DO wish people would cut themselves off sooner.

The only time I have ever seen anyone close to drunk at the parks has been at HHN and kids should not be there in the first place. HHN is NOT for children.

Have you tried Louie's, Lombard's or Finnegan's at the Studios? All are excellent places to eat.

No sales people...great idea!

Longer hours...another great idea!

Gates between the parks...yet another great idea!

Going back to the old Express system would cause the same problems that doomed it to begin with. The more popular attractions ran out of EP's early so you couldn't even get one...unlike Disney who gives out too many and the FP line gets long too. I think Universal had the right idea but needed to distribute a few more EP's to keep people happy but instead of trying to rework the system, they just got rid of it.
:rolleyes1

Perhaps a wristband system could be set up for alcohol, you get 2-3 hole punches on it for your limit. Of course some people would try to abuse the system anyway, but it might be worth trying.

I like a few drinks during HHN.But seen people taking it well beyond the point also.

I don't agree with limiting alcohol intake. Security can take of care of obnoxious drunks.

To me Universal is all about freedom in a way. Let the other parks have all of their restrictions to protect the children and let Universal do its thing. Again, as long as Security takes away the obnoxious people.

By the way, I would LOVE having gates between the two parks.

But ironically the Disney parks (except for MK of course) don't have any restrictions on alcohol intake.

It would be hard to have a gate between the parks because it is not like if they are right next to each other.

Of course they are unhappy as they are paid poorly and are forced to work using the guideline of BEING NICE TO CUSTOMERS......At Universal they are paid poorly also but can get away with treating the customers like crap.....
