If you ran DVC....spinoff from Theme Park Board

If I ran DVC......

1. Discount on DDP. You know people have to eat. So let them spend their $$ onsite and not somewhere else.
2. Room upkeep. We have paid considerable $$ to join DVC. There should be nothing wrong with these rooms when we get there.
3. Rules enforcement. Ties in with 2. No smoking means no smoking. You dont get to take glasses or other things home with you, just because they come with the room. You break it/take it, you pay for it.
4. Home resort at 15 months. Lets face it, most DVC'ers know well ahead of time when we are going next.

There's my 2 (or 4) cents worth!

HMMMM.......

1. Provide more resort specific merchandise... let's be honest while we have all spent a small fortune on DVC we would all gladly open our wallets for more DVC merchandise.

2. Discount DDP... I get so frustrated as an owner when I see free dining! Seriously! What are we chopped liver?

3. Real On-line (real time) booking.

4. Reservation numbers that actually work on the ADR website.

5. Stop sending unneccessary paper (flyers, Disney Files, etc.) and send me my ornament! (I hate having to be at Disney, or the Doorway to Dreams store)

6. MAKE THE OWNERS FEEL SPECIAL!!!!

Wishful thinking...

I would give owners advanced notice of any real changes to the system.

Owners should have had notice of the valet parking situation, even if that meant that DVC paid for the difference over the 2 or 3 weeks that notice was being given.

Change things for the negative when necessary...but don't surprise me with it!!

There should also be a greater customer focus. At some point, DVC Management decided that they were no longer selling a luxury product, but a product for the unwashed masses.

I guess its like everything in the U.S. nowadays...you get to Wal-mart to save a nickel on mayonnaise...and have to wait for the 1 cashier to check out all 35 people in line. There are a lot of people out there who are happy as they can be to do that. I'll give Publix my nickel and not have to wait in very long lines.

The Valet change and the way that it was handled by Disney really rubs me the wrong way. Does Disney really think that we believe that a contractor of Disney's was allowed to change the contract without notice? The Valet contract with Mears/Bags was negotiated, written and reviewed by legal well in advance. If Disney wanted to force free Valet for DVC Members, I would think that Mears/Bags would probably allow it.

As both a DVC'er and a Disney stockholder, I'm a little torn. I understand the need to make a profit, so I wish DVC could look at some things that would have a minimal cost (except some upfront programming), such as:

1. Allowing us to buy those extra 24 points at the 11 month mark at our home resort instead of waiting until the 7 month mark.

2. Giving us 1 fast pass for each person in the villa for each day that we've booked.

3. Allowing us the ability to have more than 2 waitlists going at one time. Or, if they would even allow me to waitlist by resort and not by category.

4. Allowing DVC members the ability to make ADR's a few weeks sooner than the CRO guests.

5. I'm not even going to ask for online booking, but I would love to have the ability to at least look at availability online.

i assume that already falls under mousekeeping's duties, at least to notify their manager if something is amiss:confused3

If I were 'the man', i'd change the checkout time to 10 am

. Before an en masse moan arises, consider the altrusic benefit of paying it forward, which would likely increase the chances of actually checking in just a tad earlier to start your vacation.

IMO a credit card hold (or cash deposit) should be required upon checkin anyway for potential damages, etc. and the meter would start ticking @ checkout.:rolleyes1All revenue would be offset against the next year's annual dues assessment.

Then, I'd ask for a golden parachute and run off to hawaii.;)
