Take a look at local.live.com...so coool, seriously

type in "Walt Disney World" in the second box at the top, called "Where: Address, city or other place"

Make sure you click on "bird's eye view" in the choices in the upper left of the main screen. You should see some unbelievably clear pictures of WDW. As you scan through the picture choices, not only can you surf WDW as if you were a bird a few hundred yards in the air, you can also change the direction you are looking (North South East West) for different views

...and sometimes these views open up additional areas to look at that aren't available in other shots (for example, I could only see the back of Fantasyland by looking South, not North...). Actually, in general there is a LOT more to be seen by loking South vs other directions...

Share what you find! I found:

Poly, the pool and the volcano
Great shots of the Grand Floridian
The trolley heading down Main Street
Me wanting to be there on such a beautiful day with hardly any crowds!!!!!!!!

I've always done Live Local, but I never tried the Bird's Eye View. It is WAY better  . Found Shades of Green, where we stayed, and have to hit the hay tonight, but will definately use that view to look at some of the other parks later!

take a look a EPCOT too. Haven't surfed over to MGM or AK yet, but likely very cool. Wonder what state EE is in in the pics?

Very cool, I love the Epcot pictures!!

Found AK, and EE is under construction. Very, very cool!

Other notes...EPCOT pictures are pretty obviously pre-opening from absence of people and severe angle of sun/shadows.

Animal Kingdom looks like it was captured at opening based on the very heavy stream of people crossing the bridge towards Safari.

This is SO MUCH better than GoogleEarth, as most of the pictures of other parks are blurred. Here they are very clear.

And don't forget to take a look at "aerial" view, or should we say Ariel view, which is like GoogleEarth and gives great overhead shots that you can zoom on a bit.

make ya'll jealous - I found my truck on disney property on that site. :)

Is this live? I found this by accident earlier this week looking for aerial views of the city just to our north that was 50 percent wiped out by the tornado last Sunday. I guess I need to work with it more. It would only go so close then nothing would come up.

I'm having problems getting this to come up. I get the heading part of the screen and then a blank space. Any ideas?
Thanks

Shoot, the DIS is not very good for office productivity!! :rotfl2:

Kewl :thumbsup2

I had a little trouble navigating through it, maybe with practice (and time to kill) The pictures where so clear! Thanks for the website.

The DIS needs a panic button which will bring up one of those bogus spreadsheets when you are (hopefully nearly) caught by the boss...that is what cbssportsline did during teh NCAA tourney...worked like a charm :smokin:

Oh my...MGM is awesome on this!!! The pics are so clear. The park has just opened, as the people are racing towards RnRc and TOT, but not yet there. Very interesting to see that RnRc is mostly contained in a big box separate from the line area, with a long corridor where the coaster goes up to speed ebtween the waiting area and the actual rider area.

i make my own panic button. I bring up some work, and minimize it on the screen, when someone comes in, i just click it. Hey, I get my work done. :cool1:
