I frequent WDW, King's Island and Cincinnati Reds FREQUENTLY so I'll put my two cents in.....
WDW food is great IMHO. It is a little more pricey, but all in all the selections is great and the quality is really good. If it's not, they will do something about it. Most other places really don't care if you like the quality of the food. WDW does. You get what you pay for!
KI food is o.k., but there's a lot of "local flavor". You can get Skyline Chili, LaRosa's pizza, Greater's Ice Cream, etc. It's not usually as good as the "real stuff" though. Just to compare, the LaRosa's family deal at KI (one large one topping pizza, family salad and four drinks) is $34.99. I recently ordered LaRosa's delivered at our hotel and got
two large one topping pizzas and a family salad for around $28.00.
The advantage with KI over many other theme parks is Fields Ertel Road is about a mile down the way. We "stamp out" and drive down there for the same food for a ton of savings if we eat. It's a convenient drive. THey haVe converted the Montgomery Inn restaurant at KI into a buffet. It's not bad and has a huge variety, but it's still $15 for adults.
As for the Reds games, they allow you to bring in almost anything. Bottles must be non alcoholic, plastic and sealed . We bring in our own peanuts, chips, bottled water, etc. I have a Reds soft sided cooler that fits the MLB size standards and keep it stocked. Rarely do we buy food, just an occasional ice cream treat. Beers are $6.50 for the plastic bottles. Two weeks ago DH and I stopped at Red Squirrel and bought two deli sandwiches and carried them in! We also have brought in McD!!! A slice of LaRosa's pizza is $4 and a whole cheese pizza is $15 at the ballpark.
I have been to many MLB and NFL stadiums around the country and have found that the smaller market teams tend to be more flexible because they are just happy you are there! The Atlanta Braves scandel was because they tried to keep people from bringing ANYTHING in. That shouldn't have held true for the poor woman who was carrying in baby formula. HELLO!

Let's use some common sense!! That's why they repealed the "ban"!
For those of you who see the prices at Holiday World you have to realize that it is in the middle of no where! They take pride on service and value because of the location. It's clean and a great value for a family to go. That's just the midwest for you. Everything costs less here and it shocks people who are from the left and right coasts!
