IF you have PS before Mk opens... can you go wait in line at Dumbo before rides open?

I haven't ever done this before, so maybe I don't get the gist of it, but if I have PS at Cindy's before park opens, that means I'm IN the park right? And if I'm IN the park, then after we eat, can't we go wait right next to any ride we want and be the first ones on when the rides begin? OR am I delusional and really off track here? :rotfl:

There is a rope drop at 9:00a at the entrance to Fantasyland and everyone RUNS to Dumbo when the rope drops.

You will however have a head start on those coming from the gate.

You will have a great head start on those at the front gate! Last February, we finished our breakfast at CRT and were at the front of the rope drop to Fantasyland (under the castle). In about the first hour, we rode Dumbo, Peter Pan, Pooh, the Carousel, saw Philharmagic, It's a Small World, and Snow White. We'll do another breakfast on our next trip just to have this luxury.

So... what would be the ideal time for PS at Cindy's in order to finish up, get pix w/ Cindy etc. and then be at rope drop??? I think the day we're going to shoot for the park opens at 9 AM.

The first PS of 8:00a. But with how fast those PS go I doubt you'll get your pick.

We have an 8:05 ps on 4/19 at Cindy's and can't wait!

But my real story is that last May we had an 8:15 ps at Cindy's and it was during the morning/evening EMH test period, so after we got the ps, they cnaged that day to MK morning EMH, so the park opened at 8. We had a 3 month old, 6 month old, 2.5yo, and 6yo with us so Dumbo (and other Fantasyland rides) were a must. We went to Dumbo right after breakfast and waited only about 10 minutes. Same with Pan, Snow White, Pooh, and Philharmagic (well, some the wait was less than that). So even if you don't get out right at rope drop, you'll still have short waits on most rides.

The earliest seating for Cindy's is 8:05, which means that you will likely be VERY rushed to be in line at 9 am for Dumbo.

I am so glad to hear that - I too made our CRT PS before the EMH were announced and we have a ressie for 8:20 am on an EMH day - I am worried by the time we are done probalby 9:15 that there will be long lines... what do you think???

We definitely got out after 9, as there were 10 adults and 4 kids in our group, so we took awhile to eat, get photos, etc. Plus we got to our PS a bit late cause we lost part of the group. Still though we didn't have much trouble with lines. 10 minutes was about the longest we waited for anything in Fantasyland that morning.

I think that if you have PSs at the Castle, then enjoy them as long as you can. I HIGHLY reccommend that you DO NOT have breakfast at the Castle if it is your first day or first time at the MK-why??? Because your kids will see the rides going and want to explore, they will never want to eat, and will be VERY ancy!! We always do the MK a full day and then then the 2nd day/time back to it, we do the Cinderella Breakfast. Just advice:)

I haven't experienced this in my past two trips, but when we got to the MK at 8:30 on a non-EMH morning, they let us in and we wandered Main Street. We went straight to Fantasyland when they dropped the ropes and we rode Dumbo, Peter Pan, Pooh with no wait. So if you can't get a early PS at Cindy's, don't worry - just get to the park before opening and you should be fine.

We a family once trying to get ahead of everyone else by doing a breakfast.

One year my oldest DD and I went to MK to be there when the park opened. It didn't take as long to get there as we had planned, so we ended up standing just behind the rope in Fantasyland way ahead of time, right up against the rope.
While we were wating with just a handful of other people, we saw a mom, dad and 2 boys who were talking pretty excitedly about how they were going to get ahead of everyone else into Fantasyland and all the things they were to go on. Then we saw them go to the podium to check in for their PS. Not too long after, we saw them come out of the Castle on the Fantasyland side of the rope, running around (while the rest of us were still waiting for the rope to drop). The kids were kind of making faces and "Nah-Nah-Nah-Nah-Naaa" at us while they were talking about what ride they'd go on first. After about a minute, a CM came and sent them back to our side of the rope. They tried to get right up to the rope, but by that time the line was about 15 feet deep and everyone in line had seen what happened and made them go to the back. During the rest of the wait, we heard the kids complaining they were hungry and the mom saying they should have eaten at Cinderellas instead of jsut hurrying thru to get out into Fantasyland.

Last time we did an 8:15 PS at CRT. We were out a little before 9am for the rope drop. My kids booked over to Dumbo and were the first in line. They will always remember being the first people on Dumbo for that day.
