If you have gone with a 2 yo...

We just recently went and my youngest was almost 2. He did pretty well overall, but he's an easy-going kid! The hardest parts: He didn't want to ride in the stroller most of the time, he really wanted mom to carry him. :crazy2: I did carry him most of the time to avoid melt-downs and because I'm basically wonder woman. ;) Another challenge was just waiting in line. There was really no way to occupy him and he just wanted to run around. But luckily at 2 years old most people in line think he's cute so they aren't too bothered by it. Trying to contain him was just hard though. The best parts: He LOVED the characters and he was so darn cute. He gave them all hugs and high fives. He loved all the rides. He just generally loved absolutely everything and it was so magical!! <3

My biggest tip for TS meals is to bring snacks to keep him occupied before the meal comes. If you are doing any buffets, go up immediately and get a plate for him. Those 2 things worked well for me. I brought my son at 11 months and again at 2.5 with my 11 month old DD.

LOVE this pic! He's adorable!

We are going in May/June and we decided we're going to do only a few early TS meals. My daughter will be 2.5 and she's beginning to outgrow her nap so we don't want to risk her being overtired and having a meltdown at dinner. So far we only have a Tusker House lunch and will possibly do a character breakfast. Be Our Guest is really the only other TS we would do if we could get a reservation for breakfast or lunch, only because my little one loves Beast. Otherwise we're going to do QS and snacks, snacks, snacks! She's pretty easygoing and we'll have another 8 year old girl with us so she will hopefully help keep her busy!

Another vote here for the mommy hook. Give the back a rest from the backpack. We have stayed at AoA and POR with 2-3 kids and would recommend both.
Yup, get the mommy hook. I hate when everything gets crammed into the bottom of the stroller and you have to pull everything out for a hand wipe. It's nice for later in the day too when you don't have room for all the stuff you bought!

I just got back from a trip with my 21 month old and had the same stroller/"mom must carry me" issue! I didn't think it was terrible because she is the tiniest child but she also didn't want to nap in the stroller. We didn't have line challenges (she liked it), or table service challenges (enter: goldfish) but we had some funny mini-tantrums on rides. She would cry every time our turn was over. When we got off the Little Mermaid ride in MK she was screaming "Cuttle! Cuttle!" because she wanted to go see Scuttle again, lol. She literally cried getting off every ride but it was only until the next distraction. She also loved, loved, loved the characters and hugged every single one of them.

She wasn't phased by fireworks either. She loved them and learned to say Tinkerbell except it came out as "Booboobell!"

One of the more important things was we made sure to give her play time. For example, while I rode Splash Mountain my husband let her play in the "Laughin' Place" playground. She got about 30 minutes of that. We also sat on the bridge and watched the Splash Mountain boats for a little bit... just some unwinding. On AK day, we also let her literally run around the park. It wasn't a crowded night, so we got a drink at Dawa bar in Africa and then just followed her while she ran through the place. She had her fun, I had my beer. #priorities lol

Every kid is different. I hope yours is like mine who loved lines, loved rides and loved characters.

Just a heads up, my understanding is that Beast is only at dinner (which is TS). Breakfast and lunch at BOG are QS, but still take reservations.

Our youngest was 2.5 when he went for the second time. He was 11 months his first time. I had never taken a two year old -we purposely skipped over 2 for my other two kids. However, it went really well! Two was easier than three. (All my kids had trips at three. Three year olds are like faster, bigger two year old).

Just got back from an 8 night trip with a 5yo and new 2yo. Overall I think both of my boys did well. The 2yo loved everything, from character meals (CP, H&V, GG, Tusker House, and Ohana) to rides the monorail and trams. Lol. He threw tantrums anytime he was initially put in the stroller, which is expected since he isn't used to the stroller at home anymore. He did get with the program the second half of the week, so it got better. I made sure he and I went on a ride whenever DH and DS5 went on one so he was distracted. When he didn't have something planned, that is when the tantrums erupted. Sometimes we couldn't plan much so DH or I had to deal during a rider swap. He napped at the hotel or in the stroller, depending on how late we were heading back. We also made sure to eat dinner around 6:00 and made it through two TS dinners with lots of snacks handy for both boys. My 2yo sucks at sleep but he had no problems sleeping most of the night at Disney. So yay for that! With your kids' ages I think you will have a blast. Have fun!

We went in October last year when our DD was 20 months. We found TS lunches to be easiest with her. We had one dinner at Ohana that was a total disaster. The food was taking awhile to come out, and she was just not having it. We ended up having to leave before dessert (I didn't even get the shrimp, which is my fav) b/c it was just taking too long and she was melting down. Chef Mickey's dinner was also touch and go, but she made it through ok. We did lunch at CRT, BOG, and Biergarten, and she did great. No issues at all. We did push her to do fireworks and MNSSHP one night, and she did fine with that as well. I think it that was easier at night because she wasn't forced to sit quietly in one place.
