I want to make sure I credit this to the Slickdeals board. I had some miles I would never use at Northwest and someone on Slickdeals posted you could get certain gift cards, etc by shopping through their the Delta Marketplace. Long story short, I combined by Delta and Northwest airmiles and purchased a $100 LongHorn gift card for only airmiles. There is no tax and shipping is free. I wasn't going to use the miles anyway, so a great use for them.

I saw this last night - this is a GREAT deal if you have expiring miles which you won't be using anytime soon (and you do NOT need another magazine subscription).

I'm not a big Delta fan and haven't flown them since my trip to Italy almost two years ago so my miles will be expiring soon. This is a great "dinner out" option.

It's a good way to get rid of those stagnant miles. There are tons of options, not just food choices. If you click on each category, you can then search within that category by points.

Have fun shopping all and Happy Holidays.

I forgot to add that when you make any transaction no matter how big/small through the marketplace any remaining miles expiration date will get changed/extended - I believe its two years from the transaction month but don't quote me on that.

Thank you! I have some miles from our past Disney trips that would never accumulate enough before expiration to be used for mileage but this way, I can get a little something for them.

I should register my DD's SkyMiles account online, too, so that I can use up her points, too.

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for posting this. I had no idea miles could be used for other things. I was able to use most of mine for a room at the MCO Hyatt for the night before my cruise next month. I have been stressing over some details of this trip and this took a huge weight off. THANK YOU! :goodvibes

This is great, in the past you had to be the highest level Sky Miles Medallion to get gift cards with miles.

Thanks! I am waiting for the Lands End $50 cards to reappear ... I plan to trade miles for tugless tankinis! :)

Thank you so much for posting this -- we're formerly NW fliers exclusively, so this Delta stuff is all new to us. I'll be keeping an eye out for those Macy's cards to be restocked. :thumbsup2
