If you have a TV in your bedroom...

Do you like to go to sleep with the TV on or off? I like (need) the TV on but I'm married to a TV off kind of guy! Sometimes even if I'm asleep and he turns it off my eyes pop open! My mind just goes crazy thinking of a bunch of things that prevent me getting to sleep if I don't have the TV as a distraction.

I need some noise when I go to sleep, sometimes it is the tv, other times it is a CD.

The TV needs to be off but I do have to have the noise of our ceiling fan and our humidifier.

I'm exactly like you Liz! Occasionally, during storms, the electricity will go off and the silence wakes me up. And forget going back to sleep again. I need that noise.

I can't listen to music, because if a good song comes on, I wake up.

I can fall asleep with it off or on, it doesn't matter. We do have a timer that we can set just in case we both fall asleep. What did one do before the remote control though? I would hate to have to get out of bed to turn it off!

I'm just like you. I absolutely cannot go to sleep with it off. I have to be sound asleep when DH turns it off, or I wake right back up. DH, on the other hand, has to have it off. It does make sense because he wears glasses. If I hear something that makes me want to look at the TV, I open my eyes and look at it. He has to put his glasses on to see, and I can understant that that would be very inconvenient.

The TV is also a very convenient light source for middle-of-the-night nursing sessions.

I leave it on with the sleep timer set for 30 mins to an hour.

WE fall asleep with the tv on. Sometimes we put a DVD in and set it to repeat so it plays all night. Lately we have been setting the sleep timer. If the tv is goes off during thenight it does not bother us. It is strange. I have trouble falling asleep without the tv on but if I get up in the middle of the night I have no troubel going back to sleep if the tv is off. Strange.

I thought I was the only one that had to have the tv on to go to sleep. I wake up the minute it is turned off too. I can't fall asleep if there is no tv. I'm not a good sleeper and I wake up a lot during the night so when the tv is on, I have something to do til I fall back to sleep again. When I was a kid, I used to have the radio on all night.

I like it on. I go to bed before DH so he will usually watch tv in bed, until Im asleep. The only problem with that is when he decides to watch wrestling. Thats not very soothing to fall asleep to.

We also have a sleep timer which we use every night -- usually about 30 minutes is enough for us to fall asleep.

We also have a timer set to turn the TV on in the morning (weekdays) at like 5am.

no NOTHING!!!! NO NOISE AT ALL! NO LIGHT AT ALL! I have to have it completely quiet, dark, and cool. The slightest sound or light will wake me up.

We have to have the TV on when we go to sleep. Sometimes I will put the timer on, but usually I wake up around 4:00 a.m. and I shut it off and fall right back to sleep.

TV has to be on for me and DH to fall asleep - we use the timer every night - usually set for an hour and that does the trick.

No, I can’t sleep with the TV on. The voices/music bother me. But I do require some type of sound, like the hum of my window a/c (summer) or humidifier(winter). Otherwise, I’d hear every little noise in the house and it’d keep me awake.

I can't sleep with the TV on. DH likes to have it on and fall asleep with it on. I would prefer that we not have the TV in the room at all.

I usually flip the tv on for a few minutes when I get into bed, but then I turn it off before I fall asleep. So, off for me please.
