I'd avoid the Days Inns in the Orlando/Kissimmee area since it's been a looooong time since I've read anything positive about any of them.

If your friend is staying for close to a week with a weekend check-in, SkyAuction.com often has weeks that go for under $300 at very nice timeshare condos. Make sure she knows to bid only on full weeks and not nightly stays. They charge $195 fee so keep the bid under $100. HTH.

I stayed at the Econolodge with my DS 4 in April. I won it off of hotwire for $25 a night. Look at hotwire for your dates it was listed as a 2 star and had a pool and laundry showing for amenities. For the price, this could not be beat. It was not the newest or nicest hotel, it needed work done, but it was safe and easy access to the parks. Very easy, very near the Publix and Walgreens on 192. If I were looking for a resort experience, than this is not the place. BUt we were there for the park experience and this was nearly a place to sleep. It was safe and clean and that is what was important to me. It also had a mini fridge in the room which came in handy. If you have anymore ? please feel free to ask.

Hi dzneprincess!

I have been looking for a place to stay in May and have been considering the Econolodge you stayed at. Does it not have a free shuttle to Disney and Universal? If so, how was the shuttle?
When was the earliest scheduled time to Disney and Universal?

Thanks for your help!

It did have a complimentary shuttle to WDW I do not recall if Universal was a choice or not. I am sorry. I never used the shuttle, as I like to have my own vehicle. But it seemed to be pretty reliable, it was often unloading as my son and I got back from the parks. If I recall the shuttle began 1 hour before park opening and until 1 hour after. Definitely DO NOT pay rack rate for this hotel. It can be won very cheaply on hotwire. It shows as a 2 star hotel, with the laundry and pool icon. Like I said I only paid $25 a night. You CAN NOT beat that. Very easy to get to the parks.
