what would it be? We are going in beginning of May for the first time as a family. (DH, me, DS8, DD5). Which one (or maybe two) dining reservation should we not miss? My DD loves Ariel and Anna & Elsa, and we have FP+ to meet both of them. We plan on visiting all 4 parks.

I realize that it's last minute, so I'll also have to take what I can even get. :)

When my children were younger they loved (and still do) Chef Mickey's and the Garden Grill. Chef Mickey's is more active and buffet style, where as Garden Grill you stay seated in your booth and the characters come to you.

Two of our favorites are 'Ohana and Akershus. 'Ohana is served family style, but they have alternate meals for the kids. OUr servers have always asked if my girls would like something else, but you may have to ask. Besides the food being delicious, they also have coconut broom races, give the kids flower leis & teach them Hawaiian dances. Akershus is a princess character meal that my girls actually prefer to Cinderella's castle. We enjoy the dinner there.

This is easy for me.
We are going in September with the QS dining plan so most of our meals will be QS but there are 2 places that we will go every trip and pay oop.

O'hana and Sci-Fi

Eventhough Sci Fi gets some bad reviews on the boards, their burgers and onion rings are great and the atmosphere is the best of any Disney restaraunt IMHO.
Sitting under the stars in a car watching a drive in movie. It is amazing and it is the one place that all my kids/grandkids request every trip.

We LOVE Tusker House at Animal Kingdom. We've done breakfast and lunch there and my kids (who are 4) love seeing Mickey and friends in their "safari" clothes! There is something to eat for everyone, with an African flair! Def. worth checking out.

We also liked the food at Hollywood & Vine at Hollywood Studios. If your kids like Doc, Sofia, Jake, etc. this is a good buffet for you guys. I ate lobster mac n cheese until I wanted to explode. The food was better than your average Disney buffet.

50's Prime Time Cafe in HS is also fun. You get to sit at tables decorated like the 50's with tvs playing old shows. The servers act like family members (good and bad ones) and they are funny!

1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian has a good dinner buffet with Cinderella, Prince Charming, her step-sisters and fairy godmother. The food was good and it was fun to see some different characters!

Hope this helps a bit... enjoy your trip!

As a family we've always had the most fun at Biergarten - good food, drinks for us and entertainment for the kids. The kids would probably say Chef Mickey's or Ohana (breakfast) for the characters.

'Ohana is our absolute must do every trip. We love it! We also like Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

You asked to pick one but that's hard so:
My one - 1900 Park Fare for dinner. The buffet was good for buffet and the characters were excellent.
DD - would say Chef Mickey's for breakfast. She's very into routines and it was her first character meal on her first trip and is now the must do every trip.
DH - would say Le Cellier. He dislikes buffets which we do a lot of for characters. He loves the filet and the fact that it's quiet :)
We arrive 4/30 to 5/5 for a huge cheerleading comp and I didn't know we were going until a month ago. I was able to get all the ADRs I wanted, including BoG. The hardest one was Chef Mickey which I got at 7:05am. I've not seen anything else available since. Just be flexible with times and you should be able to get decent ADRs.

I have 2 sons my oldest is 7 and this upcoming trip will be his 3rd time going and my youngest is only 8 months so this will be his first time going. For us without a doubt if we had to pick just 1 ADR it would be crystal palace. Both my kids even the 8 month old love tigger, so tigger is a must do for us :)

We had so much fun at Sci-fi. It does get some bad reviews but my kids were so excited about eating in a car and watching the screen and the food was good! Our sundaes were awesome!! We are going again this year.

We liked CRT for breakfast and you meet the princesses. I didn't tell the kids until we literally right underneath the castle that we were going inside to eat and they were just so excited. It's expensive tho :/
