Which rooms do you think get scooped up first?

Studios, One Bedrooms, Two Bedrooms or the Grand Villas?

Just curious b/c we are almost always going to try and book at 2 Bdrm. Am I going to be fighting for the most sought after category?

Thanks!

Amie

I would think two bedrooms.

I'm just using this latest last minute trip as a guide. Thirteen people so I looked at all combinations for rooms. There were one bedrooms left at SSR and OKW. Studios at SSR only. And no studios or two bedrooms at OKW. SSR had grand villas....OKW didn't. But as for the GV I would chalk that up to the low point value at OKW.

Well Amie...

I just reread your post and your need for two bedrooms. So I hope I'm wrong with my guess!!!!

Grand Villas are in shortest supply. I imagine that they go first.
Studios are very popular because they can sleep 4 and use very few points.
Following that same philosophy, I would imagine that 1BRs go next.
I would not be surprised to find out that 2BR villas are the last to be used up.

When I made reservations this summer at Old Key West (well within the 7 month booking window), I was told that there were PLENTY of 2BR suites left. I had to be put on a waiting list for a grand villa.

This is an interesting question that only DVC can answer for sure.

I have asked this question to several experienced guides, they all gave the same answer.

GVs first (there are so few of them)
2 Bedrooms/Studios next, usually the 2 Bedrooms first, but not always.
1 Bedrooms the last. (More points for the same # of guests as a studio - until recently).

I find this to hold true as I book vacations, except at SSR which is always the exception!
