if you HAD to choose

Hands down March break. Every one has a different spring break, but everyone tends to have the same Christmas break.

I wouldn't go to Disney at Christmas even if I won the trip.

We went to Disney Christmas time in 1985 and 2005 and both times we had to buy hats and gloves when we were there. We never took our spring jackets off the all week. It is very pretty with all the lights. The kids felt with green grass, it didn't have the Christmas feel without the snow. I enjoyed it as I didn't have to do all the Christmas cooking.

You can never tell what the weather is going to be. We went 3rd week of August 2008, and hit the tail end of a hurricane and we wore raincoats for the all week.

Is there somewhere on the Toronto School Board web page that shows the holidays/PA days for 2012? It presently only shows for 2011.

I have the same decisions to make. I'm a teacher and last summer we went to Disneyland and California for 2 weeks. It was awesome, such a fantastic trip. We'd like to plan another trip for 2012 but I don't want to go to Florida in the summer. We'll probably do California one more time and then do Florida at Spring Break or Christmas Break...but the prices make me cringe--so expensive compared to non-break times (of course, because of demand).

Good luck with your planning!

@skd33 - "The Unofficial Guide" Crowd Calendar rates crowd levels at WDW on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (insane). Their predicted crowd-level ratings for that week in January 2012 are as follows: Jan. 1: 10, Jan. 2: 9, Jan. 3: 2, Jan. 4: 2, Jan. 5: 4, Jan. 6: 4, Jan. 7: 3, Jan. 8: 4. By way of comparison, the predicted levels for next week (i.e. March Break 2011) are Mar. 12: 9, Mar. 13: 9, Mar. 14: 10, Mar. 15: 10, Mar. 16: 10, Mar. 17: 9, Mar. 18: 9, Mar. 19: 10. Of course on the flip side, the weather in March is nicer, but I would rather avoid the crowds....

We were thinking of going then but there is NO way I would go in 9 & 10's.. that is something I would avoid like the plague. I think I may move my cruise/ Disney trip to avoid that!! THANK YOU for posting those #'s

.

Do you know what crowd levels are from February 23- 28th?

Thanks so much!

March Break hands down unless you don't main crazy crowds and freezing your "A" off. I have found President's Week and Easter at WDW waaaaay worse than any March break that I have ever traveled down there.:thumbsup2

We just got back yesterday from WDW and it was busy! I think the whole state of Louisiana was there and I'm not kidding. Plus there was the annual cheerleading competition on the weekend.....I've never seen so many cheerleaders and they start them young! The parks were very busy and the weather was good, not too hot and not too cold.
We were also in WDW just this past December and it was FREEZING. However, the parks were beautiful with all the Christmas decorations.
If you are looking for warm weather, then I suggest going in March. I also suggest staying at a Disney resort so you can take advantage of the Fastpasses. The lineups for rides were at least an hour long. If you have the Fastpass, the wait time is no more than 15 minutes.

Fastpass is available to everyone. It's the Extra Magic Hours that are only available to people staying on property.

I too think March is a better time. I am also a teacher and have even taken
an extra couple of days (with loss of pay) and saved huge!!!!! (cheaper packages mid week) It just depends on your contract. Last year March was cool 60's and 70's this year its 80's+. I guess it's just luck of the draw with Florida. Still its warmer there then here.

Have a great time!!!!

Christmas would be prettier but March break warmer. For me it would be about the weather.

All the GTA boards (in fact, 71 of 72 of the different School Boards in Ontario) have applied to the Ministry to approve a December 23 - January 9 christmas break.
