I just can't pick it. They are all horrible! Pearl reminds me of Mr. Krab's daughter on Spongebob who is a whale. Maude from that old TV show. Beulah from the Country Bear Jamboree. Madge from the Palmolive dish soap commericial. Doris from Doris Day. Ethel who used to be a maid on that old show. I could go on! All those names should be retired permanently!

I like 5 (possibly 6) of them. I purposefully chose names that I didn't think a lot of people liked. That was the point of the poll. You could always make a nickname from the name, like the last poster did.

I picked Pearl... mostly because that is what my mom's name meant. However Yolanda was a very very close 2nd.

The rest of them... I probably wouldn't pick ever. Winifred isn't horrid, but I find the rest of them pretty "bad"

I chose Pearl because it sounds the best of those to me. Nicknaming and shortening names isn't something I like though so I couldn't pick a name just because I could shorten it to sound better. Doris would be the name I would shorten and call her "Dori" but I know a no so nice lady named Dori and then there is whole "Founding Nemo" thing that would be awful to carry around for some poor child.

I like older names though. just none of those. I love the name Nelia.

I picked Madge because you could call her Maddie (which is what we call our Madeline).

Plus, I always liked the lady named Madge in the Palmolive commercials.

If you want my honest opinion, I don't like any of those names - they remind me of my great aunts - Ethel, Gertrude, Hilda, Hazel, Thelma - I kid you not - all in one family. Of course, they were born in the 1800s.

Pearl is the only name I could go with. And I couldn't vote in the boy poll because I couldn't find one that I would name my boy.

A Different World! I loved that show.

I picked Winifred because that's the name of the heroine in one of my favorite musicals - Once Upon a Mattress and I've always liked that name.

That is a tough one... I like old names but more the Grace, Emma, Anna, Margaret (Maggie), Lorriane (Lori).... I guess if I had to pick it would Gertrude or Pearl
