If you had to choose... AKL or Poly?

AKL with standard view would save us about $750, but my group of adults and I are leaning towards Poly because it just appeals to us more. We will be renting DVC points and I'm trying to decide which is more worth it?

I would just do a split stay but we will be stocking the fridge with perishable food items, plus we will have plenty of nonperishables and I'm not sure if they could move those with our luggage :/

They can move perishables. We've done it before without any problem. I would stay at Poly if you plan to go back for breaks often. Otherwise, I would save the money and stay at AKL. They are both fantastic either way!

I like both resorts. Poly has it's own charm and AK also is stunning. I prefer Poly for it's location but I prefer AK because it's housed in one building. It is just my preference that I like everything under one building so it wet/hot weather, we don't have to suffer the outside. :crazy2:

We've also wanted to stay at AKL, but one of the main reason's we like to stay at a Deluxe Resort, is easy access to parks. Since our next trip is during the busiest time of year, we decided on POLY.

I would choose Poly even though I am super excited about our first trip to AKL in July. We really like the convenience of staying at one of the monorail resorts, besides the convenience to MK and Epcot it is also nice to be able to resort hop via monorail. We looked at Poly for July but we are there during a time when there aren't any good discounts and we don't have APs this year so we decided it was a bit more than we wanted to spend this trip. I can't wait to stay at AKL though!

How many adults are splitting the cost of the $750? I mean if that is what appeals to you, I'd be looking at the actual cost to myself.

Personally, no desire to stay there and I love AKL but you have to do what will make you all happy.

We've stayed at both and love both for different reasons and I don't think you can go wrong with either one as they are both great (IMO). With that said, however, I'd go with the Poly if that's the resort that appeals to everyone the most.

Poly. We haven't stayed at AKL, but we've visited, and it's lovely, but the distance to the parks would drive me crazy. At Poly you have the monorail as well as the path to the TTC, plus the boat to and from MK.

I'd choose Poly, but AKL holds almost no appeal for me. Poly is one of the most convenient resorts on property due to it being one monorail stop away from Magic Kingdom and within walking distance of the TTC for easy access to the Epcot monorail. AKL is one of my least favorite deluxe resorts because I don't think it has the special access or transportation that the other deluxe resorts have. We don't spend much time at Animal Kingdom so the fact that it is close to that park isn't a big selling point and it's a long bus ride to any of the other parks. If I wasn't going to have the convenience that the other deluxe resorts offer, I'd just stay at a moderate and save even more money. At Poly, you are a heartbeat away from MK and a hop, skip, and jump from Epcot. That just leaves buses for Animal Kingdom or DHS. Good convenience and a lovely theme. Poly would win for me, hands down.
