Hi everyone,
I am going through some indecision about when to go to WDW next year with our family and I wanted to get as many opinions from all of you veterans out there as possible. My husband and I are both school teachers, so we are trying to decide whether to go during our Spring Break time ( specifically April 12-19) or in June ( June 14-21,2003). Are there any of you out there who have gone during both of these times and which would you recommend? I know the temperatures will be hotter in June (84 in April compared to 90 in June or so all of my books say :) ) , but will the crowds be better in June compared to the week before Easter? What about the possibility of getting a better rate with upsells or codes? I am going round and round about this! Let me know what you all think so I can add your opinions to the mix! :) Thank you all so much for your help!

Sincerely,
Terri

I would pick June over April. Both will be crowded, however, in June you will have the benefit of longer park hours.

Just sharing my own experience - I've been planning our April vacation trip for a year and have diligently been watching for resort codes/discounts, etc., of which there really have been none. We are staying at the Dolphin l/2 off with DC-- the only deluxe to offer deep discounts year-round (cheaper than PO-R for same week with discount) Now, you would qualify for teachers rate which would be even less!! We've been there over April when the crowds were horrific, but that was Easter week. If Easter is separate, they say it's not so bad. Friends went last April and said crowds were fine (maybe they all went to IOA!), so I guess you never know. I can't answer the weather question because when we went in April it was hotter than one year when we went Memorial Day!

You asked about discounts - besides noted above, thanks to the DIS and mousesavers.com, we have saved everywhere - car rental, park tickets, golf, mini-golf, dining..it has been fun planning and this board has been both friendly and extremely helpful. Their advice has been invaluable. Good luck with your decision and plans.

All in all, if given the choice, I would choose June, also.

This is a tough one, lol. But I think if it was my choice I would go in June. I think the spring break season is one of the busiest times of the year at WDW. You have college and under age students out on break Easter week. And if water parks are a must, June would be a better choice. Check mousesavers.com for resort discounts and much more. Either way, have a great time!

I agree with going in June since we go just about every year at that time. You have the benefit of longer park hours, so you would be able to go back to your room to rest and then go back in the evening when it is not quite as hot. Of course, you have more time for this if you stay on site. Not sure if you could do this staying off site. I've heard the crowds during spring break are much worse than June.

We also love going to the water parks. That's another reason why we go in June.
