If you had a 1/2 day to spend, AK or DHS?

I've been asked by friends who will be in Disney next weekend for advise. They have an evening they will spend in Epcot, a full day at MK, and then they have a half day (morning) to spend at either AK or DHS. They've been to Epcot and MK, but never to AK or DHS.

So, their question is, which park to go to for the 1/2 day in the morning? This couple is in the mid-30's, has been to Disney twice before for week long trips, but somehow never made it beyond MK and Epcot. They'll be down for a work trip and have some free time for Disney (staying at All Stars Music - the husband in the couple teaches highschool music, and this is part of a school band trip).

Any thoughts? If you pick a park, what would be the highlights?

This sounds exactly like what my friend and I are planning to do! We'll be spending a whole day at MK, and then the next day we'll be spending the morning/afternoon at AK and the evening at Epcot! We still love HS (or MGM ) but we sort of ran out of things to do last time.

MAKE SURE THEY GET THERE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE half DAY ISNT LONG. I MIGHT CHOOSE PARK THAT IS OPEN FIRST IF THEY HAVENT DONE EITHER BEFORE.

Mostly because you stated morning, I voted for AK.

I made a mistake one trip and decided to do DHS in the morning and was disappointed because a lot of it isn't running in the morning. Yes, TSM and the big rides are open, but not until the very late AM do any of the live shows (Indy, LMA, American Idol, etc.) get going. It was like walking around in a half closed park. Once noon hits, DHS seems to spring to life.

I'd suggest AK simply because, for me, it's a half day park and best in the mornings anyway.
