And one was the next in the series by your absolute favorite author, 2 or 3 were promising books by someone you liked or they sounded good, and one didn't seem to be that good, what order would you read them in. I love books, and belong to a mystery book club and have just received a new shipment. I know what order I will be reading them in. I will wait til a few people answer and then tell what I am doing. I suspect it tells alot about the type of people we are.

I would read next by favorite, one of the 2 promising books, the unknown quantity, then save the last of the promising books for last. :)

LOL Jason!!! :teeth:

I would read the one by my favorite author first, then the 3 promising ones, then the one that didn't look to good. . :)

i would do the same as willy -- favorite first. :)

Same as Willy as well, although I doubt I would even bother reading the one I didn't like. My time is too limited.

i would read my favorite one last. that way if the otehr books aren't that great i know something good is still waiting.

I too would read my favorite last for the same reasons Wagamama said :)

Well, I just picked up 9 hardcovers at a yard sale (new books at $2/each) and then I got 3 new books at BJ's. I ended up reading the short one first - Skipping Christmas - John Grisham - so i could give it to my sister today. I also read a Robert Parker paper back
- a quick reading so I would be able to give it to my sister today. (We'll be at our brothers wedding and I wanted to hand off some books to her. There are about 6 of us in the family who pass around books)

The other books I will probably just close my eyes and pick them since I have no preference. BUT...I just bought the latest Maeve Binchey one and I want to wait until I have the time to savor that one...she's one of my favorite authors.

Well, I didn't really answer your question, did I? :)

I LOVE having lots of books to choose from...

Jill

Jill, how did you like Skipping Christmas?

I've contemplated buying that a few times, but I never have. What did you think, is it worth buying?

I think I'd read the favorite last, especially if it was Diana Gabaldon's newest. I never want her books to end!

I would read one of the promising books, read my fav author's book next, read the other 2 promising books, and I probably wouldn't read the not good book-or I'd put it away to read sometime when I was bored. I've noticed sometimes the not good book is one that I should've read first.

Is read the promising ones first, then my least fave and then the fave.
I am like this with everything. I have towels and sheets I never use. I save good chocolate, good coffee, everything

The good books are The Golden One - Elizabeth Peters
and Q is for Quarry - Sue Grafton.

I'm not Jill, but I loved Skipping Christmas! As soon as my mother gives it back I'm going to read it again. :) About halfway through the book it suddenly turns so funny that I was literally laughing out loud. :)

I would read the favorite first and go from there. It would go fast and then it is easy to move on to the next.

I have a t least 50 books waiting to be read (I'm a book junky)......they go much faster if you like what you're reading:)

I'm also not Jill, but I can answer ;)

I thought it was cute. Not worth a huge cost, but if you can get it at a reasonable price, it's fun. It's one of those stories that things just keep building and building and building until you can't do anything but laugh. :)

Well I would probably read my favorite author one, then a promising one, then the one that was iffy, and then the other two promising ones.

I would read my favourite book last. I would try to figure out which of the books besides that will be the most interesting and save that one for next to last. Least interesting one first and my favourite author last :)

Sort of the way I used to eat my halloween candy when I was a kid.

Snoopy..

Others have answered already, but yes, I did like it. Very easy reading and it twists & turns a bit. Also makes you stop and look at how you celebrate your own holidays. Very easy reading - I read it in one day.

I am passing it on to my Mom tomorrow and then it should make the family loop. If you still haven't read it yet I'll send it to you when I get it back. Just not sure when it will get back. (It's small so it would fit in a padded envelope)

It would be best to read it SOON since we'll be smack dab right in the middle of the holiday season.

Jill
