If you had 1/2 a day to spend in a park by yourself...

I love both EPCOT and MK and go to both frequently when I'm alone. I really love going to MK in the morning. Grab breakfast at the bakery, then sit on the curb and watch the morning entertainment, catch a ride or two, then have a dole whip.

I would definitely do World Showcase. Start slow in each country, see their entertainment, sample their snacks, wander in their shops, people watch.

I just got the pleasure of a half-day in the parks by myself. :cool1: We were at Epcot a couple of weeks ago and the hubby and daughter went to ride Soaring and other things. I got the day to wander around the countries, shop, eat, see shows and just do what I wanted. It was wonderful. Then we met later for dinner. Take your time, watch all the shows you can, check out all the shops, and just enjoy the day.

I highly recommend it!

There really IS something so special about a half day or a day to yourself. For people who are comfortable touring alone, it is something that everyone should do, if possible -- one day dad takes the kids, the next day mom, or whatever arrangement can be made.

Not only does it give a person time to themself, it gives closer "kid time" to the adult who is taking charge of the kids that day -- if the adult is into being the solo "big one," it's fun.

It works for an all-adult vacation, too. Last year when my daughter and I went, one of the most valuable lessons we learned was to go off and do our own thing independently, then meet up later.

Riding a roller coaster alone . . . that's a great one, too. Plus, if you get in the "riding alone" line, you get in so much faster.

Nice post!

I would probably go to Animal Kingdom - it is a great place to roam all the trails and watch the animals and find all the great details. When you are with a group you don't get to go at your own pace and wander around.

I'd head to AK as well. I love the atmosphere there and it's such a fun place to take pictures. My camera is always with me and time to take whatever pictures I want without children nagging me is a precious commodity. ::MinnieMo

You said it! Someone could spend their entire vacation taking photos only at the Animal Kingdom Park . . . and then . . . just when you think you're done . . . a bird or monkey or lion does something WONDERFUL, and then out comes your camera again.

For animal lovers, this is bliss.

I'd go to Epcot and watch the fountains. Nobody ever wants to do that with me.

but you need to do the thing that either nobody else ever wants to do, or the things that you would hate to miss on this trip.

I love it when kids get into the fountains that squirt water in shoots from one place to another. It's a fun show.
