If you go "here", you should definitely order "this?"

So, when you go to these restaurants, what's your "must have" at each place? (I know reviews on some of these are mixed, and that's okay. I'm just looking for those not to miss entree's from the people who enjoyed dining there.)

San Angel Inn (lunch)
Coral Reef (dinner)
The Plaza (lunch)
Akershus (lunch)
Sci-fi (dinner)

I'd appreciate any thoughts on picky kids preferences too!:rolleyes1 Thanks! :goodvibes

We have never done San Angel--I don't like Mexican food.
Coral Reef -- haven't done it in probably ten years and menu has changed a lot since then
Plaza -- love the cheeseburger and club sandwich; DH loves the reuben. GREAT chocolate shakes.
Akershus -- best thing I can say about the meal here is the cold buffet; we ate here for first time last year and did not care for the food
Sci-Fi -- it's been years but we always liked the burger and I believe they had onion rings

I'm sorry, I know it's not an entree, but at Coral Reef, the Land and Sea appetizer is so good! I know some people haven't been thrilled w/ it, but I think it was one of the best things I ate when we went in September--YUM!

I got the steak there, and while the potatoes that came w/ it were really good, the steak wasn't the best--although I've heard many people rave about it, so I may have gotten it on an off night.

HAVE FUN!

San Angel Inn - Ate their last year for dinner, but nothing stands out. Wasn't bad, but wasn't great.

Coral Reef - Land and Sea appetizer was good, the chooclate wave desert was very good.

The Plaza - We ate their 4 years ago, my wife had some sort of turkey club sandwich their. She liked it a lot.

Akershus - Never been. Sorry.

Sci-fi - The three of us, can't say nothing nice about this place for dinner. Lunch is fine, stick with cheeseburger and onion rings. Everything else was horrible.

Definitely try to potato salad at the Plaza...soooo good after a long morning in the parks. Another vote for the turkey sandwich there to- but be warned, it's gigantic! I had to take my second half in a Pluto bag;)

San Angel Inn (lunch) Haven't eatent there since Spring Break when I was in College (long, long ago, in what seems like a galaxy far, far away! Back then a Margarhita and something else!!! Now, a water and something to compliment my son's kid's meal which I will surely be picking off of!
Coral Reef (dinner) The Land and Sea Appetizer. and the steak is phenomenal!!!!
The Plaza (lunch) We had ice cream there once, but alas no more character ice cream social!!!!!!!!!
Akershus (lunch) I have a boy - enough said, I guess.
Sci-fi (dinner) The RIBS!!!! Yummy, I had to stab my pore son's hand with my fork, because he kept stealing them from me!!!:rotfl2: I was left with the kid' burger, not bad, I guess:mad:

The plaza has a really good strawberry chicken salad and I really liked their vegetarian sandwich too. It can with sweet potato chips which I really love. We also like the ice cream sundaes there. It's splendid.
The only other place on your list that I've been to was San Angel Inn and it was truly horrendous. I know there are people who like it but the food was bland and not very memorable.

San Angel Inn-we've eaten there twice in the past 4 years and have a firm plan to never go back. The only nice thing I can think of to say is that the atmosphere is nice.

Coral Reef-it's DH's favorite steak in all of WDW and I love the chocolate wave cake.

The Plaza-I've never eaten there

Akershus-No stand out favorites come to mind from there. No "must-have's"

Sci-Fi-This September will be our first time to eat there in a few years. The atmosphere was the reason for eating there, but we had no favorites there. I've heard lots of people say the ribs are very good though. They weren't on the menu the last time we were there.

Well, i havent been to any besides Coral Reef and Sci-Fi, and Coral Reef was many many years ago! So! i guess i'll throw my 2 cents in for Sci-fi! I love their steak for dinner and i always get the yummy potatoes, and the Chocolate Tart for dessert!!! :lovestruc

San Angel Inn (lunch) - the vegetarian plato combinacion (not on the normal menu, but ask for the vegetarian menu) - it's delicious in my opinion

Sci-fi (dinner) - milkshake!! or one of the drinks with light-up ice cubes. Since it's dark in there, the light-up drinks are more fun :) I also really like the spinach and artichoke dip, but it's not like it's way better than spinach and artichoke dip at any other restaurant. Honestly, the food here isn't spectacular, but it's not bad either. The atmosphere is very fun though.

I haven't eaten at the other restaurants recently enough to even remember the food.

have only eaten at these two:

coral reef: loved the lobster bisque and shrimp with pasta

sci-fi: always get the onion rings, cheeseburger/fries, and a shake

Coral Reef - CRAB LEGS and the salad (although husband thought I was eating weeds........mmm delicious!)
Sci Fi - Husband suggests the steak! also the onion rings
Norway - best part is the cold bar with the salads
