Hi. I just found out that some ladies in my office are getting me the Lenox Mickey and Minnie cake topper next week (as I am taking Friday off to get married at city hall in NYC) :)
(which is posted in another thread, but I digress....)

Anyway...has this happened to anyone here? I mean, I have the cake topper that comes with the Escape package...and when we have our party next year after the Disney wedding, I'm not sure if we're going to even have a Disney themed cake (at this point I'm going in another direction totally for the cake)....

So, do I keep the Lenox to just keep it? Can I try to return it anywhere? Should I ebay it? Do any of you want it?

WWDBD??!?!? (What would DISbrides do?) :)

Let me know your thoughts and opinions please! Thanks so much!!

I had gotten the Escape cake topper for my sister. My aunt got her the lenox one. SHe put my topper on top of the cake and the lenox one on the cake table, but not the cake itself.

Honestly just because they give it to you doesn't mean you have to use it.
Keep it as a memento you never know maybe 20 yrs from now your kids will put it on a cake for your wedding anni.
I like the idea of putting it on the cake table also.
But if it was me I wouldn't get rid of it.

Well, my DF and I purchased the Disney Mickey and Minnie cake topper to go on our Mickey Wave cake and then my girlfriends threw me a Princess Shower and one of my bridesmaids gave me the Disney Collectors Society Cinderella and Prince Charming wedding topper (which is absolutely beautiful). I have not decided what we will do yet but I would not return the one I received as a gift.

We have not decided which one will go on the cake but if we go with the M&M one we will use the Cinderella one to decorate another table - maybe the gift table or maybe our Sweetheart table.

Just because the cake toppers are cake toppers - they are beautiful just as they are (especially the Lenox one) and do not need to be put on top of the cake.

We purchased the Lenox Minnie's Dream Wedding Cake Topper and received two additional cake toppers as wedding gifts. They were the Precious Moments Bride and Groom wearing Mouse Ears and the Mickey and Minnie black & white Sweethearts.

We put ours on the cake and put the other two on the cake table.

Personally, I wouldn't return it - unless its something you really don't like. Even if you don't end up using it as a cake topper, you could use it to decorate the cake table (or gift table, place card table, any of those things if you have them) at either your Escape wedding, or at your at home reception.

I was also given the Lenox Minnie's Dream piece as a gift. It is lovely and I have it in a curio cabinet with other wedding stuff. There was no way I was flying that down to Disney and back.

I also ended up getting another "regular" Mickey and Minnie cake topper and it sits in my office now.

And, of course, I have the one that was actually on my cake. It's sitting in the same curio cabinet as the Lenox piece.

Unless you really don't like it, keep it as a wonderful decoration for your home.
