If you do an album for each child - a question

I had pics taken of the boys at The Picture People. They were wearing matching Superman shirts. I made a l/o that I love that I'll use in one of the boys' books. The question is, if I want to scrap the same picture for both boys' books would you come up with a different l/o or use the same one again?

I have four children that each get their own books. I do use the same or similar layouts for all. Matter of fact, in addition to regular pages, I do a two page layout each month with pics of that month's big activity on one page and a calendar of what all happened that month (funy things they said or did, etc) on the other. I try to keep the layouts as similar as possible to make it easier on myself.

I am now up to making 4 scrapbooks, yes I know I'm insane.

I use similar papers and embelishments, but the layouts differ slightly based on each album/child. It is much easier to duplicate your work and just make 2, or 4, of the same thing, but I have found that the pictures I want to scrap vary slightly based on whose album it is.

My DD10 has already been warned that in 2 years I'm handing the album over to her and she can scrap her own photos! Four albums is just too much repetition.

I ended up doing 2 different but similar layouts. I LOVE the way each of them came out, I'll take pics and post them later:)

I do same basic layouts for all 4 of my albums (mine and each DD) MAkes it much easier IMO

Here's what I ended up doing.

This one is for the baby's album...

And this one is for my older ds...

Adorable!!!

I have 3 kids of my own and 2 stepsons... so I do 6 pages of favorite photos.. :) one for each of them and one for myself! My pages do differ slightly or I use a different sketch if necessary.

I love them! I do a book for each child, plus a general "year" book and one for vacations and trips, so there's often an element of duplication. As my boys are 16 and 10 there's fewer pics of the two together as they're more likely to do their own thing, so for vacations their books will have a double page spread each of their favourite activities/places, the year book will have just one double-page spread giving a flavour of the trip adn the full story goes in the vacation book.

Well...... I used to try to do a different page for each child's album, but since I am SO far behind, I have streamlined my system a bit and I now don't hesitate to duplicate a layout for each book... especially if it is for IDENTICAL pictures. That said, both kids still get individual layouts for each of their own special events and sometimes I have different pictures from the same event, so they each get a different layout for that reason.

Do whatever works for you!!.....................P

I thought I was the only one who did individual child books! I'm glad I'm not alone!
I do a book for each child and then sometimes I will do a special album, for example I did a whole album for our Disney Cruise. Then each child will only get a few pages in their individual albums.
I try to use different pics in each album, but sometimes if I really love the pic, I will duplicate it.
The way I do it is I do a year for each child, then go back and do a year for the next child, etc... I'm REALLY far behind, though since I didn't even start scrapbooking until my oldest child was 5. Right now, she is only 4 in my scrapbooks. I figure it will give me something to do when they go to college!!!
Anyway, I don't duplicate the layouts for that reason. By the time I get to the next child, I just go with whatever....although that does sound like a really good idea and I might start duplicating a little more!
