Would you plan to get there to be 1st in line for general admission to the park or take your sweet time in the morning getting there? I hope to have AP's and since we won't be staying at a DLR property we'd have no MM ~ the only day this will apply is Tues, we fly in Sun. morning but don't land at LGB till 7am. I've planned on Tues. morning being our breakfast w/ Chip & Dale and I'm wondering what time I should get for our PS.

Have you already purchased your APs? If not, why don't you get hoppers first, for the MM privileges, and then upgrade to AP's at the end of your trip or at least after you get your MM day? It won't cost you any extra, just give you the MM.

We just take our time, we sleep, wake up, go to the parks. Even when we stay on property we still sleep in. LOL

I have thought about upgrading park hopper's to AP's the only problem I see is $$, I could buy one AP now, one next month and one in April ~ I could do the same with park hopper's but the price to upgrade at the end would be hard ~ especially after 4 days in the parks!

It costs the same amount. If you can afford one AP now, one in March, and one in April. Why not just buy the park hoppers and keep saving? :confused3

That makes no sense to me. . . sorry.

Why don't you take the money you would spend on the AP, and instead, purchase a hopper (less money). Take the extra money leftover and set it aside in an envelope for your future upgrade at the park. You can do this monthly, just like you were planning before. :confused3

You make good points ~ no reason not to save the $ and upgrade at the end, well we could upgrade Tues. after our MM, our AP's would have a end date based on our 1st date with the hopper (Sun. April 20th) correct?

You know what they say about great minds. . . ;) I often think we share one because you normally post exactly what I was going to say, so I don't even have to reply! :lmao:

BUT. Ultimately she IS losing money, because she's forfeiting the AP discount for those days.

Everyone there for MM is in Tomorrowland or Fantasyland. When I get there when everyone is trapped in those parks, I head towards Indy and POTC, personally. So yes, I try to get there very early, so I can get to those rides before the people who have been on Dumbo for an hour get there! :)

You know what, since you will be going to GCH anyway for your meal, why not just skip DL that morning? Visit DCA for a little while then go to your b'fast. (if you want to see chip and dale, go before 10:30 b/c they leave after that time...if you don't care about those two but want to order from the menu instead of the buffet, go BEFORE 11:30 because they stop serving from the menu at that time) Or have your b'fast early and be at DCA half an hour before its official opening, as everyone says they tend to open early.

When we upgraded from our hoppers, I was very annoyed at myself for losing 2.5 days of AP discounts, but we just kept forgetting. And we budgeted for it by using Disney giftcards to upgrade! In our case we had those through cashing out on sunshinerewards, so we didn't go out and buy them anywhere, but the concept is the same. As you have that money set aside, go to disney store and buy a giftcard in that amount, or order one online, or just hide it in an envelope or savings account, waiting to be turned into a gift card to do the upgrading with.
