If you couldn’t stay at AKL, which moderate would you pick....

DH and I currently have a reservation in September at AKL for our anniversary. I picked AKL because we’ve never been there, and since we won’t have the kids with us it doesn’t matter to us how long it will take to get to the parks. With the opening of SWGE, if it’s crazy crowded we wouldn’t mind spending a little more time at our resort. We like that AKL has multiple restaurants and other areas to relax and just hang out. I had been hoping for an AP discount but as time ticks on I’m not sure if that will happen. I *may* switch to a moderate if there are no discounts. We’ve stayed at CBR, POR, and French Quarter, but we’ve always had the kids with us and frankly, spent little time at the resorts. If you had to pick a moderate based on the idea of spending more time at it, which one would you pick? Of course, if it is miraculously not crazy at the parks we’ll be spending more time there. But with the uncertainty of SWGE I would like to have the option of hanging out at the resort more. We’re not big pool people, so the pool doesn’t matter. Thanks!

We really like all the Mods:) You already have stayed at 3 of the 4 so you have a good idea about those, CSR has the new tower rooms and added a new TS restaurant and has a more adult feel to the resort. If the gondolas are working then that may be interesting at CBR, and of course a big plus for us at the PO resorts is the boat to DS. As you know they are all very nicely themed and enjoyable to walk around at. I would suggest staying at the one Mod you have not stayed at, CSR.

POR and POFQ have the free boat to DS, which is nice. Not just to go to DS easily, but the boat ride itself is nice. My favorite is CBR but if I was just staying at the resort more, I'd pick one of those.

I would do CSR or POR. The new restaurant at CSR seems really nice and I find the resort in general has a bit more of an adult feel, I also love how the resort looks at night, it is really beautiful, DH and I will often stroll around at night. POR has beautiful lush landscaping and awesome grounds, plus an easy boat ride to DS for more food options. POFQ is nice too, we just prefer the feel of POR. We were not fans of CBR when we stayed, we didn't like the layout at all, but the Skyliner is intriguing if it is open for your trip.

CSR. Try the new Gran Destino Tower. A couple of new places in the Tower to eat/drink/lounge and the new Three Bridges Grill and Lounge in the lagoon. The pics of the new Tower look amazing and quite luxurious- more upscale and deluxe than the other mods.

Coronado Springs
has a deluxe feel to it. + the new tower really helps that statement

Normally I suggest POR or POFQ, but seeing as you've already visited all the mods except CSR, AND given the recent changes at CSR, that you could check out I feel like if I were in your place, I'd want to go give that one a try. :)

We always do POR. We like that it’s spread out so you don’t feel crowded, they have multiple quiet pools, there are carriage rides you can book, the gift shop has champagne and wine not a big selection but still. They have a lounge. There is boat transportation to Disney springs for easy access to a variety of restaurants. You can rent surrey bikes.I think you can have an anniversary trip easily at this resort that utilizes the resort

I've stayed at every moderate and I think CSR has a more adult feel. It's the only resort that I've stayed at that wasn't overrun with children. The hot tub was actually full of adults and the pool bar was awesome. If I was going with my husband for an adult only trip that's where we would be without question. If it was full my next choice would be POR because their quiet pools are amazing and the boat to DS.

Thanks everyone! I’ll keep CS in mind, along with POR. I always forget about CS; I tend to think of it as a convention center. The tower at CSR looks awesome, but it doesn’t really save me any money, but we could just do a standard room. I’m still hoping a discount might come out, but it’s nice to have a back up plan!

CSR. It is considered a convention resort but that is a bonus if you are enjoying an adult trip. The pool area is awesome. The food court is nice. The restaurant is TS. It really is lovely as well.

We really loved POFQ and CSR. I wouldn’t hesitate going back to either resort.
