I guess my weekend was more boring than I thought as I found myself contemplating If I would really like to live in WDW. Would the magic disappear if my address was Main Street? What would I do with all the time I spend planning and anticipating my yearly jaunt to the World? Would it become just another place to live?

I'm still not sure what my answer would be given the opportunity. How about you?

Nope. I like being able to consider it a vacation destination. :)

Yep. In a second.

Of course, DH would not, so I'm out of luck.

i'm with rajah.

about 8 years ago i decided to go to college in my favorite vacation destination (other than disney, of course, LOL)

now, even when we move out of here, i don't think we'll be back for vacation for quite awhile. it sort of sucks. :(

when you live someplace for awhile, you learn all the bad things about it and it sort of loses that magical feeling after awhile. i used to think seeing the monuments were the coolest things; now it's been there done that, all these stupid tourists are gonna make me late for work! ;) :p

i would be really sad if that happened to me at wdw. :( it's one of the few places where i feel like i can really get away from it all.

No, then where would we vacation?!?

Peggy

I would love to live there, but I'd want to work there part-time too, and be a part of making the magic happen for others. I know that the behind-the-scenes life of a cast member is less than glamorous but I think the on-stage experiences would make it a joy for me.

Of course, all this hinges on NOT NEEDING the money. There's a different attitude when you're working to pay the bills and when you're working because you love what you do.

i'm with DoeWDW on this one...i would LOVE to live there myself, but only if i was able to work there as well. and not be dependant on the money! i know the work wouldn't be all that great, but i would love to be one of those CM's who bring a little touch of pixie dust to someone's day!

Of course, but my address would be Cinderella's Castle. :)

I've heard of people doing this. Not living the park of course :teeth: but people have retired there and get Annual Passes and go every single day. It was a report on "60 Miinutes". I didn't see the report myself but my mom told me about it. She said one couple did it for a year, then decided to move back to NYC, then decided they were happiest in Orlando and moved back!

I personally have considered moving to Orlando and working for the Mouse, but I have the same fear, it would become common and lose the magic.

You betcha!! :teeth:
There's an apartment in the castle with MY name on it!!

I would love it! If money were not object and I could be in a Boardwalk, Beach Club or Old Key West Villa (one bedroom at least).

As for vacation - well there's the cruises, Disneyland, and the rest of the US!

Yes I think so. I can't really imagine ever growing tired of WDW, and I have lived in FL for most of my life with an AP. Besides then I could go on vacation to other places!! ;)

Would I live at WDW? Is this a trick question:confused:

Actually I would love to give it a shot. I feel like some of the others that the magic might die if I am there every day but I am willing to give it a shot. If I notice that the magic is decreasing then I'll move, maybe to Universal Studios because we really don't care about the magic there now do we?:p

Oh yeah, I'd move there in a second, I'd be packed by the time you said, "Who wants to live in Disney?" again. I'd move there surely, but it could get boring..:o I hope not. I'm used to it for vacation, something to look foward, but if I lived there, it may not be. I'd love to live in Disney though, no matter what. I'll be there this Saturday! :D

I'd love to live there. I don't think I'd ever get sick of it. On the other hand I would never want to work there. Then I'm afraid it would lose it's magic. I've thought about getting a job at The Disney Store but decided against it. I have heard you get a nice discount if you work there.

all these stupid tourists are gonna make me late for work, nations capital

You brought a grin to my face. When we were in DC, we were going down to the Metro around 5:00 p.m..

This lady barks behind me, "get to the left, walk down the right"
or is it the other way around. How was I suppose to know, I was just riding the rail down.

You think she says that a couple of times a week in DC

Yes, yes and yes again. Just think of all the family members, friends, and aquaintances that would want to come and visit you on their vacations!

OhMari! :o :p

i'm sorry you had to experience her yelling at you. :( i try to keep my comments to myself and be happy that there are tourists here supporting our economy. :teeth:

it is sort of a local "joke" though that you can tell who is a tourist by where they stand on the metro escalators. LOL :p

hope you enjoyed your visit. :teeth:
