If you could stay at any resort beside FW

If you could stay anywhere while Visiting Disney

  • Value Resort (I don't like fancy hotels)

  • Monorail Resort (Like the convenience to MK)

  • Beach or Yacht Club or DVC Type Resort

  • Wilderness or Animal Kingdom Lodge

  • A hotel off property that I like better than Disney Resorts

I voted Contemporary for the Wishes view at night- a room on the MK side would be even better.

What was the name of those round multilevel huts next to the river heading towards DTD that colson posted pics of the other day...those seemed really nice tucked away so nicely in the woods, with the river view......aside from that...I like the idea of the big fancy places like the GF or YC, but looking like I do, Id never really be comfortable in one....Id always feel like everyone would think I was the lost janitor or repair/maintenance man or something.

Treehouse Villas. Disney has recently applied for permits to demolish some if not all of them and perhaps construct something new in their place.

Definitely Riverside!! It has some of the ambience of FtW (trees, paths). Next in line is Port Oleans. I just love that complex!

If money were no object, I would love to stay at the Grand Floridian!

Off Property- Lowe's Resorts Universal Studios (Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, Portifino)

Okay, I know I am gonna be the odd man out on this vote, but once again I am back to vacationing with my four legged kids and I picked the above resort cause' it's 4 star, I've stayed there before and they cater to the four legged kids. My BT's loved it and they even met the general manager of the Royal P. who showered them with love and attention. They went with us for our 12th wedding anniversay and they each received a complimentary gift bag once we were in our resort room filled with a "Lowes loves pets" plastic dog bowl, dog mat and something else but I can't remember what it was now. The mini bar had dog treats and stuff for them. The room service menu had a special menu just for them (which they really enjoyed) and we were able to take them anywhere in the resort we wanted to. Including to the bar in the middle of the hotel where we swapped BT stories with the bar tender whom also had a BT. Oh yeah and when we forgot their dog bed, the concerige happily sent up a brand new one (with the tags still on it) dog bed for us to use during our stay!

Plus, when they say front of the line access for staying at the resort-they mean front of the line access. For instance, the day we went to IOA the Hulk was an hour and 45min wait and we waited all of 10 min. for the ride! Needless to say, we were able to see all of the park that we wanted to and still take care of the kids back at the resort room. I think we left them alone in the room for all of 4 hours total (course' we went back and took care of them during that time as well). That was pretty cool.

Disney are you listening? Some of us would have been willing to pay over $300 a night to bring our pets! Especially when it costs me $85 plus tip to have a pet sitting service come stay here at home with them!

I voted Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge. We were suppose to stay at WL before we got the motorhome. WL is gorgeous and rustic. Love it. Also think a Savannah view room at AKL would be cool too.

That sounds really nice! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I voted for the Contemporary, but in reality if I can't stay at the Fort I will stay home. Not going to kennel my four-legged family member for anyone, not even Disney!

The Monorail Resort (Contemporary) is one of those places the I have always wanted to stay at ever since I was a kid. However, with the addition of Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Savannah View, I have to admit that would be nice too. Hard choice between the two.

My answer would be "almost anyplace I haven't stayed in yet."

I've enjoyed experiencing each of the resorts we've stayed in, but the only ones I would go back to are Ft. Wilderness and the Dolphin. The others just haven't been worth the price for the experience. (Coronado, Beach Club)

My top Disney resort dream right now is AKL savannah view...I'm hoping to get in there for a few nights just after Christmas! I can't imagine paying those prices for a whole trip. I like staying in FW and then sampling the various hotels for a couple of days. It's a lot more rea$onable that way. :goodvibes

My other strategy is to go and visit the resorts and eat in their restaurants...and then go home to FW. It's a lot cheaper, and I'm a happy camper!

I find it interesting that I have no desire whatsoever to stay at WL. It seems like a cross between the Ahwahnee in Yosemite and the Grand Californian at Disneyland. I've got no need for that, but I'll happily go to Whispering Canyon for dinner once every trip!

Sue in Texas
...mmm, yum...

Mine would definitely be the Grand Floridian. I love the looks of that place. In fact we almost stayed there this trip (in 2 weeks) until I figured the price difference between hauling the 5er and doing FW or driving my DW's car and staying at GF.

Wilderness Lodge is cool. It would be my second choice, but last trip to the Fort, our friends stayed at FWL to be close to us and we spent quite a bit of time there. We almost felt like we were staying there.

Animal Kingdom looks really neat but it is so far away from the places we like to go.
