I think an 8 yo. would rather splurge on those useless trinkets, that are so important to them. And speaking as a Mother myself, I enjoy seeing the excitement on their face when they get those things. IMHO, nothing is worse on vacation, than having to constantly say "no" we can't afford it. Have a great trip!

I agree 110%. I'd hate to have to keep telling my son no while we're on vacation. He helps that's he reasonable and doesn't ask for the moon and stars.

I'd splurge on an Illuminations Cruise.
